We had a wonderful stay at Phineas Swann. We highly recommend the pet friendly services. Our Springer Spaniel Alex was well taken care of the entire time we were skiing. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Karen who personally watched Alex and took him for walks while we were skiing. It was nice to be able to enjoy ourselves knowing that our Alex was being well taken care of. The accommodations were very nice and the breakfast was outstanding, we also would recommend the romantic candlelight dinner. The Inn Keepers Jay, John, Bo Bo and Emmie are very friendly, helpful and made us feel right at home. We thank everyone at Phineas Swann for our relaxing and enjoyable stay.

When my boyfriends 30th birthday plans fell through I was devastated! I had been planning the suprise for months. At the last minute we saw a website for the Phineas Swann. Upon calling Jay we booked the honeymoon suite and couldn't have asked for more. When you say all inclusive this is what you think of. A home like atmosphere, fresh pastries and employees like Emmy and Karen make this B&B all that I could have asked for and more. I can't wait for my next trip! Next time we will be brining the puppy:)

p.s. If you want the best dinner and lunch around check out the Trout River Traders, amazing food, great prices and the nicest staff.

My wife is from Southeast Asia and had never experienced a white New Year. We chose the perfect location to bring in the New Year together, the Phineas Swann in Vermont. Everything about our stay at the Phineas Swann can be described as magical. It was above our wildest expectations. The Inn is absolutely gorgeous and provides the perfect background for a romantic getaway. The inn is just like a Christmas postcard.

Everyone at the Phineas Swann were so incredibly friendly and helpful. Special thanks Emmy and Karen for the wonderful service. The breakfast is almost beyond words. From the Blueberry French toast to the waffle with Vermont bacon. They were cooked to perfection and the portions were huge. No need for lunch. The local restaurants have great food and have excellent service. The people were helpful and so pleasant to talk, it was like you were chatting with your old friends.

Jay and John gave us so many options and helped us plan our stay. We are not skiers so we went site seeing to some of the most beatiful and interesting places. From the covered bridges covered with snow to the slopes of Smugglers Gulch it was fabulous. Then to cap off the day you relax by a warm fire in the living room of the house reading and drinking hot cocoa. And of course, never skip their homemade cookies and brownies.

The Phineas Swann is the perfect place to bring in the New Year or any time with the one you love.

20 years ago we planned a trip to Vermont and envisioned staying in a beautiful restored Victorian Mansion with a four poster bed. We never did make that trip....

This past Fall we had a alumni reunion trip to London, Ontario, Canada. We decided to fly to Montreal first and travel to Vermont for a few days. On our first day we drove into Montgomery to have lunch and we saw this beautiful B&B and inquired to see if there was "room at the Inn".

From the first second we entered the front door we were treated with great respect and we were able to book a room and then travel around some of the State to see the fabulous foliage.

We have travelled most of the world and we could not believe the incredible service at Phineas Swann. It was more than a 5 star resort all in one. John and Jay and Jay's sister Jen were amazing.

We would recommend a stay here to everyone. Thanks again for making a dream come true.

On a beautiful fall weekend, my girlfriend and I made our way from the routine trappings of suburban new jersey to the tranquil country hills of vermont. The autumn scenery painted a perfect picture before we arrived at The Phineas Swann B&B. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed with warm smiles and greetings. Emmy and Karen made us feel right at home, showed us about the main house, and led us to the river house that we stayed in. We were shown all the amenities at hand and everything that was there for us to use. The 1st floor of the river house is where we stayed and it was amazing. With such cold weather while we were there, nothing felt more comforting than the gas fireplace and a movie we borrowed after we walked home from dinner in town. Breakfast was simply amazing both mornings we were there, as well as the hospitality. Something to note is that this awesome expirience was made while the owners, John and Jay, were away. I would recommend this B&B to anyone. Special thanks to Emmy, Karen, Jenny, and Janis for making our stay so incredible. I cant wait to return again and get to meet the owners and thank them in person for what an amazing B&B they run.

We have stayed at many bed & breakfasts on our annual ski outings in Maine and Vermont. This by far was the best B&B we have ever stayed at! We are a family of 4 with two children 8 and 11 years old. My children were made to feel welcome and they loved the abundance of hot chocolate.
My husband and I loved the evening hot tub after a day of skiing.
The two bedroom carriage suite with a living room and bath with jacuzzi gave us the comforts of home.

The breakfasts were fantastic. Emmy made us feel welcome every morning. If we were not interested in what was on the menu, she made us what ever we wanted. She was terrific!

The handman(sorry we did not get his name) was sure to keep that hot tub in great shape.

We look forward to coming back again.

We were looking for a romantic place to stay while doing some cross country skiing over Christmas break, and found the Phineas Swan after searching for pet friendly lodging. This place was amazing! The attention to detail, from the decor to the extensive amenities, made us feel right at home from the very start. Our dogs had a warm bed with a bone awaiting them by the fire, and the room was beautiful, blending a welcoming country ambience with antiques. Emmy and Karen attended to our every need during our visit, from breakfast to pet sitting availability, and definitely added a personal touch to our stay. I would recommend this inn to anyone!
