Knowledgeable and friendly staff, both volunteer and paid. Hands-on visit with the horses. In a short time, I learned about the history and current status of these beautiful horses. Take time to walk the barns and fields. Ask questions. Great visit for children, too. Because it was quiet when we visited early in the day, we were able to have extended Q and A with several of the interns and staff. Sure hope to visit again when I'm in the area.

We own horses and I have a daughter who has ridden for 10 years. We took a day out of our Vermont vacation to drive 2 hours to this farm. The exterior is beautiful and as informative as you will get...a plaque that tells of the history of the farm. So read the plaque and leave. The lady in the gift shop was unfriendly and acted as if us being there an hour before closing really cramped her style. We were welcome to "walk" the grounds with no map or any information whatsoever about any horses. I was shocked that the UVM runs this place because the stalls were not very nice...very worn and dated. All horses were in their dark stalls and you could barely see them at 3:00 in the afternoon. We were there 10 minutes. Please save your time and money and buy a book about horses at your local bookstore.

Overall it is a beautiful place to visit. The farm is well organized, clean, and the people who work there are very friendly. Even though it was a rainy day, I am glad that I was there, a beautiful and charming horse farm.

The UVM Morgan Horse farm is a must for anyone who has any interest in hoses especially Morgans. Great to expose children to horses and the role that they have played in our history. The staff was friendly and informative. The horses were the stars of the show especially the newborn. Bought 35 tickets for the raffle, better odds than the lottery. The barn alone is worth the visit.
