“My favorite Vermont restaurant”

Fresh peach mint soup, mushroom wellington, blueberry vinegar dressing on salad, maple syrup glaze on cheescake. Everything was so fresh from local farmers. Although not professionally trained, the pride of growing up in this family owned business clearly showed. Hidden away in EAST Middlebury did not keep people from finding it as there were cars from 5 states in their small parking lot. This is one place that doesn't need anything but word of mouth advertising. We didn't stay there so I didn't rate the room.

We came to visit Middlebury College, and needed a place to stay. This was a terrific find! It is charming in all respects. The two rooms we stayed in were beautifully appointed, a little on the small side (but I had purposefully selected that as we were only there for an overnight), but wonderfully comfortable. Each room has its own unique decor, just so nicely done. The whole place has a beautiful ambience. Great service, very clean (that's so important) such nice people too.

The complimentary breakfast deserves a special shout out as it was amazing and delicious. We didn't have dinner there - I wish we had, given how great the breakfast was. Home made muffins and bread... Their attention to detail and service was excellent. We would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed at this B&B after a long day of biking and going up Brandon Gap (15% grade) and coming down E. Middlebury Gap for a 60 mile ride. At the base of EMG, you will find the Waybury Inn, where the opening to the Bob Newhart Show was filmed years ago. This "hunting lodge" style B&B has everything one needs. Great food, a nice pub and outdoor seating with a well-manicured yard next to the B&B. The service, the attention to detail are all commendable. The only challenge this property has, in my opinion, is that it needs a stronger internet system. Very few were able to connect. I had very spotty service (AT&T).

Room Tip: The Mansfield Room, where I stayed, has a nice double bed and an attached bathroom.

The Inn is beautiful, the room was perfect--Honestly, I have never slept as well anywhere travelling as I did at the Waybury Inn. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was quiet, and the temperature perfect. The complimentary breakfast was quite good--nothing was the "best ever", but it was a really good breakfast. Service at the Inn is good. The overall sense I had is that the Inn will meet all expectations, but never exceed them. I guess I expected as an out-of-state traveler to a bed-and-breakfasty place to get a bit more individual and personal attention. It was a corporate experience at a homey place, and that felt strange.

A friend and I had dinner at the Inn, and found it enjoyable, with food well prepared. We both had venison, which was excellent, as were the accompanying vegetables. The menu has lots to choose from, and the wine selections ample and reasonably priced. The server was attentive without being intrusive. The only negative was the noise level. (We were in the dining room beyond the bar.) There was a large group there for dinner. There was nothing obnoxious about their behavior, but the sound seemed to fill the room making conversation something of a trial. The dining room itself is comfortable, but not cozy. I wouldn’t see it as a place offering a particularly romantic setting - more traditional Yankee featuring simplicity totally lacking pretentiousness and there’s nothing at all wrong with that.

My husband took me for a surprise birthday present to this lovely Inn, we had never been to an "Inn" before so neither of us knew what to expect, but all we both could say was "Wow"! at every turn, the owner was so gracious and welcomed us with warm cookies and showed us around this beautiful property, then we went to our room where my husband had ordered flowers and chocolate covered strawberries with a bottle of champagne! The room was very clean and all the amenities were first class, as we discovered the rest of the place was too! The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly, we can't wait to come back! We had dinner both nights, one in the comforting Pub and the other in a spectacular dining room called the "Pine Room", both meals were exceptional as was breakfast both mornings, they serve their pancakes with syrup from thier own trees which were being "tapped" at the time we were there. Great place - go there - the rates this time of year are a steal

Room Tip: We peaked into all the rooms that were vacant and all the rooms are so individual, I can't pick...

A birthday stay at the historic Waybury Inn in the Robert Frost Room with my fiancé was perfect respite from busy work-a-day life. The room was impeccably appointed with antiques, tasteful wall décor and a delightful bed. The secret box's contents were endearing and heart warming to an extreme. Food at the pub and at breakfast was delicious and the marscapone cheesecake with maple drizzle birthday cake (gratis) was a tasteful, tasty finish to a delightful stay. Many thanks to the staff, especially Tracey, for the hospitality. I would recommend a visit to this lovely establishment.

Room Tip: Robert Frost Room is one of the honeymoon suites... rightly so for romance and comfort.
