We stayed at this hotel in August, 2004. It opened earlier in the year. Very clean, bright and spacious rooms. It is located on Route 7, which is a main-yet-country road in Vermont. The center of Middlebury was only a mile away; easy to reach and plenty of parking by car, but there were sidewalks if you wanted to walk from the hotel. Middlebury has many quaint restaurants and shops, so be sure to spend some time in the center. There's also a wonderful, homey restaurant called The Dog Team Tavern just a little north of Middlebury off Route 7. Delicious dinners in a warm, friendly atmosphere!
I liked that the lobby area had a little "pantry store" which had beverages, ice cream, snacks, and perhaps some microwaveable meals. There was also a McDonald's across the street, if it's fast food you crave. The hotel is also next to a large Brooks Pharmacy so if you forgot something, it's easy enough to walk next door and buy it.
The restaurant at the Courtyard had a nice and fairly inexpensive buffet breakfast. All in all it was a great stay and I look forward to a return trip to this hotel!
