We recently spent a very comfortable week at the Vermont Inn. Michael & Emily, the innkeepers, could not have been nicer. Upon seeing the size of our dog they upgraded us to a larger room that was very clean and comfortable. We were in the area for ski race training and needed to get to the mountain early and they had no problem getting a nice breakfast out to us earlier than usual. We really enjoyed taking our dog hiking on the trails right out back. We look forward to staying there again the next time we are in the area. Jim & Jane R

We arrived on Friday night. The Innkeeper called to confirm what time we would arrive and was there to greet us upon our arrival. It was slow at the inn so they upgraded us to a room with a fireplace. Breakfast each morning was a perfect portion size (and delicious!) with a variety of choices from cereal to eggs or french toast. The omelet was a perfect size. The banana bread was to die for! Both Michael and Emily were very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. Emily filled our water bottles with hot water for our hike to Mendon Peak. The hot tub felt so good after hiking all day. I loved that the hot tub was outside. The cool air was refreshing if you got too hot in the tub. The inn is conveniently located between the Killington/Pico Peak area and Rutland. They recommended a local restaurant which was fabulous too!

Michael and Emily - the couple who manage the Vermont Inn - truly made our stay at the Vermont Inn a memorable one. We were visiting family for the first time in the area and were not familiar with the roads at all. They gave us great suggestions of places to go and sights to see.

Our Accomondations were warm and charming. Emily is a terrific Hostess and was bubbly and delightfully helpful. she also just wanted to make sure we had everything and anything we could possibly need.

Michael is the chef, and breakfast both mornings was heavenly - the vegetable quiche and carmel apple french toast were scrumptious! Mike also allowed us to stay in our original room choice even after we gave them late notice as to an added guest with us - "little bear" the rescue dog we had gotten 4days before we arrive!

Thanks guys we can't wait to come back again!

p.s. Thank you very much, Jeremy, the owner. Very helpful and gracious. Nice speaking with you on many topics.

We stayed here just after thanksgiving and found the place to be lovely.
Micheal and Emily the inn keepers (managers) were welcoming and were helpful and always on hand We also met the owners who were up helping out at the weekend and they were nice too.

The bedrooms and bathrooms were extremely clean and the rooms were toasty warm and the water always hot.
Breakfast was very good, nice selection and very tasty (with an open fire in the dining room).

I loved the place but if you are looking for pristine brand new this place is not for you.

The hot tub was on small side and not the best location but can I say after a day on the slopes who cares as long as its hot. One negative review I read mentioned about the pool and the hazardous uneven flag stones round it and while yes this is true, I doubt that the pool will be in much demand right now and I expect that the owners will have it on a list and hopefully they will do it before summer. Call me an old romantic but I kind of like the idea that the place has been bought by someone without an endless pit of money who wants to play at inn keeper for a while but by a family with roots in vt, working hard to make the place a success (I am guessing all this from the little conversations we had with the owners and the managers so might be completely wrong).

Anyway what ever the situation is we had a great time and will be back.

Oh one last point the restaurant is shut right now and I dont think it is noted on the website. We knew as emailed about reservations but I would be bummed if after a long journey I wanted to chill and stay in only to find out there was no food available. Perhaps they could let people know when they booked.

We stayed over Veterans Day weekend. It was very quiet at the Inn this weekend, and our innkeepers upgraded our room to a gorgeous room with a fireplace and a whirlpool tub. The room was comfortable with plenty of space, and nicely furnished. We didn't have the opportunity to have breakfast on either of our mornings due to our plans for brewery tours around the state, but each morning, we awoke to the delicious smells of breakfast being prepared. We were able to get a very quiet location with lots of privacy - exactly what we were looking for in our mini-escape from the recent rigors of our schedules. Emily and Michael were super-friendly and accomodating. We really felt at home there and will definitely be making a return trip as our schedules permit. Thank you Emily and Michael for making our weekend all that we hoped it could be!

Room Tip: room E is very private, but room 7 has a queen canopy bed, a gas fireplace, and a large whirlpool tu...

The Vermont Inn has all the conveniences of a chain hotel, coupled with all the charm you'd hope for. The rooms are clean, comfortable (and all unique!). All the amenities you'd need -- free wifi, tv, pool, hot tub, a delicious breakfast, plus cider and cookies during the day. The innkeepers Emily and Michael are personable and knowledgeable. We can't wait to return. Definitely recommend!

After 4 years, my husband and I decided to take a short honeymoon to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and chose the Vermont Inn on the advice of friends. We had an amazing weekend, Tim went above and beyond right down to changing our room to one that was better suited to our needs. He chose a private room, which really was a honeymoon suite, complete witha romantic whirlpool tub in addition to the full bathroom. It was next to the hot tub room with a private entrance. It was so quiet and private that we felt like we were at home. Tim's breakfasts were fantastic, and he gave us a list of local restaraunts to try...which he printed out and had waiting for us. There is a trail behind the inn to walk on that brings you to a wonderful brook where we spent some time in the afternoon. We did not want to leave! The room was clean, comfortable, quiet and had all we needed and more. Thank you Tim for making our weekend all we had hoped! We will be back for sure and this may just be our Anniversary spot for years to come.
