It truly can pay off to put faith in many of these reviews. My husband & I were planning a scenic motorcycle trip thru Southern Vermont; we were looking for accomodations that were clean, had a pool, reasonably priced & were within walking distance to town's activities. We found it all at The Barnstead Inn. Neil & Cindy were personable & professional as well as helpful with any questions we had about the area. The property iteself is beautiful & well kept-up. Although not large, it supplies the guest with a lovely pool area, a gazebo, a playground area for kids & a patio. We were upgraded to a larger room upon check-in which was a pleasant surprise. The Lodge was clean, relaxing, rustic & very simple. Manchester is a lovely town (it does roll the sidewalks up at 9pm so plan accordingly). We will absolutely be back! Thank you Neil & Cindy!

If you are expecting a Four Seasons or W experience this is NOT that but if you are looking for great hosts in a traditional Vermont Inn then this is it. Manchester is a great little town. Excellent shopping and restaurants and summer activities all over. Neil is awesome and he and his wife run a warm and welcoming Inn. Will be staying there again this weekend. You can not better experience Veemont hospitality than here at this Inn. "Moonlight in Vermont" was written about this little place, I am convinced:) Cheers!

Barnstead Inn is a lovely, low-key place to stay in a beautiful setting. Within walking distance of Manchester Center, but you'd never know it -- location is set back from the road and super-quiet. Hosts Neil and Cindy are friendly and accommodating and the rooms are immaculate -- my primary concern anywhere I stay.

Our favorite place to stay in southern Vermont. We are frequent repeat customers of the Barnstead. Neil and Cindy are great hosts and always make us feel welcome. Beautiful grounds, great pool, gazebo, and great private rooms. Nice and quiet too!

Room Tip: ask Neil about the recently remodeled rooms. They are all nice, but the newer ones are fantastic.

We've just returned from another great stay at Barnstead. This was not our first visit to this very comfortable inn, and It won't be our last. We have been visiting Manchester, VT since 1985 and have always stayed at Barnstead. It is like a second home.

The rooms are comfortable and cozy with just the right amount of rustic charm. The inn has wireless internet, flat screen TV's and all the comforts of home. There is a pool to enjoy just steps away from your room. This inn is truly an oasis.

As for the hosts, Cindy and Neil, they truly enjoy being innkeepers. They are a great resource for all the shopping and dining needs you may have. They are very so very helpful.

We can't wait for our next visit.

We recently returned to our home in the Shenandoah Valley Of Virginia after spending 5 days and nights at The Barnstead (our home away from home). This was our eighth visit to our paradise found. The beauty, tranquility, location and accommodations could not be more special. Our hosts, Cindy and Neil, feel like extended family. We can't wait to return. Perhaps they might consider adopting us. Room Tip: All rooms are special.

Just returned from a short weekend trip to Manchester and I am so happy that we stayed at the Barnstead Inn! This place was such a peaceful, beautiful escape from the bustling noise of NYC. The room we stayed in was perfectly furnished - the owners have truly thought of every thing! I slept so well at the Barnstead Inn and enjoyed the cool breeze coming through the window at night and the sounds of nature outside. There is something so incredibly special about the Barnstead Inn - it is such a cozy, nice, welcoming place. The owners are wonderful. I honestly can't wait to go back. Best place I have stayed in years!
