Our favorite place to stay in southern Vermont. We are frequent repeat customers of the Barnstead. Neil and Cindy are great hosts and always make us feel welcome. Beautiful grounds, great pool, gazebo, and great private rooms. Nice and quiet too!

Room Tip: ask Neil about the recently remodeled rooms. They are all nice, but the newer ones are fantastic.

We've just returned from another great stay at Barnstead. This was not our first visit to this very comfortable inn, and It won't be our last. We have been visiting Manchester, VT since 1985 and have always stayed at Barnstead. It is like a second home.

The rooms are comfortable and cozy with just the right amount of rustic charm. The inn has wireless internet, flat screen TV's and all the comforts of home. There is a pool to enjoy just steps away from your room. This inn is truly an oasis.

As for the hosts, Cindy and Neil, they truly enjoy being innkeepers. They are a great resource for all the shopping and dining needs you may have. They are very so very helpful.

We can't wait for our next visit.

We recently returned to our home in the Shenandoah Valley Of Virginia after spending 5 days and nights at The Barnstead (our home away from home). This was our eighth visit to our paradise found. The beauty, tranquility, location and accommodations could not be more special. Our hosts, Cindy and Neil, feel like extended family. We can't wait to return. Perhaps they might consider adopting us. Jim and Freida Townsend

Room Tip: All rooms are special.

Just returned from a short weekend trip to Manchester and I am so happy that we stayed at the Barnstead Inn! This place was such a peaceful, beautiful escape from the bustling noise of NYC. The room we stayed in was perfectly furnished - the owners have truly thought of every thing! I slept so well at the Barnstead Inn and enjoyed the cool breeze coming through the window at night and the sounds of nature outside. There is something so incredibly special about the Barnstead Inn - it is such a cozy, nice, welcoming place. The owners are wonderful. I honestly can't wait to go back. Best place I have stayed in years!

I have no complaints. The premises are well manicured and designed, with lilacs in bloom and other flowers on their way. There were many places to sit outside and just listen to sound of the peepers, birds, and rain. We rested as soundly as we would in the countryside, yet we were a 5 minute walk from cafes, restaurants, and shopping. The rooms were clean and well decorated with ample closet and dresser space for the two of us. There is a refrigerator in the room along with a coffee maker, but no microwave so just keep that in mind if you are a very early riser or night owl trying to prepare a snack. We just brought fruit and muffins. The bedding was clean and of good quality!! I would definitely return to this inn! It was the perfect find for us!

My wife and I have visited Manchester on many occasions during the summer months but this was our first time in Spring. The Barnstead was the perfect location for our trips to the book store and other shopping in the center of town and the innkeepers were very helpful with directions and recommendations for restaurants and other sites. We stayed in the President Coolidge room which was spotless, comfortable and quiet. Would definitely stay there again.

Every time I think of Vermont....I think of Manchester, Vermont and then I think I better e-mail Neil at The Barnstead Inn right away! We have stayed at this inn at least 5 to 6 times and we always leave saying...we can't wait until we return again...and we are still in their driveway...planning yet another visit!
The Barnstead Inn is close to town with lots of country charm and Neil is the most friendly inn owner who is helpful and gracious. If you want to get away from it all...stay at The Barnstead Inn and relax and feel right at home at this inn! The rooms are large and spacious and decorated with just the right country charm. Don't hesitate to make a reservation....join the Barnstead family!

Room Tip: Check the website photos for descriptions of the many rooms!
