“A cozy mountain lodge 15 minutes from Stratton”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

We stayed at the Olympia Lodge for the first night of our weekend trip to Stratton. The owners (Sal and Trish) were so nice and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The lobby of the lodge was cozy with a fireplace and couches where we were able to relax late into the night. They also had a small bar to get drinks while we relaxed by the fire! We had a great made-to-order hot breakfast in the morning, which was included in our stay. The only negative thing I have to say is that the rooms could use an update. However, the hotel is close and convenient to all the restaurants, bars and shops in Manchester as well as the nearby ski resorts. If you are looking for a nice place to stay near Stratton, I'd recommend the Olympia Lodge!

We just completed another very enjoyable ski trip that included a two night stay with Sal and Trish at the Olympia Inn. We found the Olympia by chance last year, and after that visit now we can't imagine a trip up to VT without staying with them again. The hotel is perfectly situated if you're skiing Bromley or Stratton, just seconds from all the dining and shopping options in Manchester. Most importantly though is the comfort that Sal and Trish provide bookending all of the activities you knockout during the day. They send you off in the morning with a full belly from the fantastic breakfast, and help wind you down from the day with a nightcap, a warm cushy couch, a roaring fire at night, and wonderful conversation amongst new and old friends.

We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else on our annual ski trip to VT!

Room Tip: If you require a refrigerator, make sure you ask for it when booking the room.

I reviewed many places in the area for our ski trip this week. I decided on this one for a few reasons. First, all the reviews I read were great. Next, the price was right, ski tickets were offered at a discount and breakfast was included. I called the lodge directly and got Trish (one of the owners) on the phone. Immediately, I felt the warmth and hospitality. After a long conversation and a thousand questions later, I booked. The moment we walked in we felt like we made the best choice. The rooms are basic and clean. The downstairs has a few couches, fireplace and bar. My kids played with the owners children and made so many other friends. Sal ( her husband) and Trish were great resources as well. They gave us great places to go for dinner and some ideas of what to do on a rainy day. My kids had such a blast and we enjoyed making new friends as well. I hear from other guests that they throw an awesome New Year's Eve party which I don't doubt! We might have to make our way up there for that as well!

We had a fantastic stay. Sal and Trish are so friendly that you feel like you are with family. The rooms are spotless and the lounge (which feels more like a family room) has a really nice bar and magnificent fireplace. This is the area that really makes the stay worth every penny. Here you get to regularly talk to Sal and Trish who are two of the nicest people you can ever meet. This room is decorated just as you would decorate your own house with family pictures and little nick knacks that give that quaint and homey feeling. We now come back every year for our annual skiing trip and could not even think of staying somewhere else regardless of the mountain we choose to ski on.

I stayed here on a ski trip and had a great experience. The owners were very nice and they made us feel like we were family. Jake the dog, a cute, playful pup was a great touch. The rooms were immaculate and the lobby was like sitting in your own living room. We were able to cozy up to a big fire and have a relaxing evening after a day on the slopes. Sal, the owner was up early to make us a great breakfast to keep us fueled while we were skiing. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. We look forward to staying here again!!

You get what you pay for. At $125 a night we should have expected much. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the toilet did not work. It kept running and at one point had to pour water in the tank to fill it up. On a positive note Sal and Trish were very nice. It's time to invest and update.

Had a great time. Decor could be updated but didn't really matter. Beds were comfy and rooms very clean. Loved the little bar and the "living room" like feel to the common area. Trish and Sal are awesome and so welcoming. We noticed that some of the guests keep coming back year after year. Very convenient for our 2 days of skiing at Bromley and Okemo. Only one comment, the heat is a bit too high in the rooms and no individual thermostats. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ask for second floor. A bit of a problem with small children running overhead.
