“Great First Stay”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

We stayed here for a long weekend over MLK weekend. Trish and Sal couldn't have been any nicer! Granted, it's not a 5 start hotel, but the rooms are very clean, the breakfast is made to order, and I can't rant and rave enough how accommodating everyone is. Whatever you need, Trish will make sure you get it along with other recommendations of where to eat, where to go shopping to get the best ski deals, etc. You're about 20 minutes away from Stratton Mountain, and 5-15 minutes away from some very lovely bars and restaurants. We recommend The Perfect Wife Restaurant and Bar. The downstairs is a nice restaurant, and the upstairs is a pub (with tables as well). We're definitely going back.

After reading the great reviews of the Olympia we decided to try it out for our first "big" ski trip, and am I sure glad we did! From our first inquiry call to when we reluctantly said goodbye, Trish & Sal made us feel welcome, comfortable, and treated us like longtime friends rather than the VT ski trip novices we really were. With their help, we got the best deal possible on Stratton lift tickets, had all the great local/insider advice on the slopes/lifts/lodges/logistics we could ever need, and had a lot of laughs at the end of the day reliving the adventures next to the fire with them & all the guests!

The kids & I LOVED the generous breakfasts Sal & Trish served us. After a full morning of skiing I was still pretty full and didn't need to eat lunch. Everything -even the toast- was special!

The rooms are large, extremely clean, and unloading/reloading is a cinch for the downstairs guests. Their location is ideally close to all the shopping and dining in Manchester, and an easy 15-20 minute ride to the slopes.

In summary: Outstanding hospitality, Ideal location, Reasonable rates, Highly Recommended. I have a feeling we'll be back to try some hiking in the summer or fall.

Room Tip: Downstairs at the end of the hall worked great for unpacking/repacking the car. 10 steps. Downstair...

Hey Jim,
It was so nice to meet you and your family. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay in the BIG MOUNTAINS!! Sorry to say your going to have to come back because the kiddos are now going to want to ski the big slopes all the time!! Maybe next time our kids will get to hang out?
We are looking forward to your next trip to Vermont!

The Olympia is always our favorite part of a trip to Vermont. Sal and Trish are great innkeepers and make everyone feel at home. We spent yesterday afternoon après ski in front of the fire. What could be better?

We've been visiting the Olympia lodge with our kids and friends for 8 years now and we wouldn't think about staying anywhere else in VT. Sal and Trish are wonderful, caring hosts who make us feel right at home in their lodge. The rooms are clean, fees very affordable and the ambiance is fun, festive and very Vermont. The lobby has seating for you, your family and friends in the warmth of a great fireplace. We highly recommend visiting and know you'll go back. We are already talking about our next trip for this season!

Room Tip: Talk to Sal or Trish and they'll set you up. We wanted a room near the door for loading/unloadin...

I highly recommend this place if you are traveling with family, and you don't expect luxury. It is great value for the price you pay. Sal and Trish are among the nicest people you would meet. The kids can run around and not be not be bothered. Rooms are clean and you get a hot made-to-order breakfast for free. I will definitely go back there...

That is the sign you are greeted with as you walk in the front door, and I have yet to see anyone leave otherwise! We have been visiting Sal, Trish, Tom and the girls for 8 years now. Our visits just keeping on getting better. This is a true treasure...they are wonderful people who will do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. The Inn is ALWAYS clean and inviting. The location is just a minutes from Manchester Center and close to Bromley. Can't imagine a better place to stay.

We have been visiting the Olympia Lodge with our family and friends for the past 8 years. It is one of the friendliest and warmest place that you can visit. Trish and Sal are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are more than willing to accommodate any request or help answer any questions that you have and they also love to hang out and chat. The Lodge itself is cozy, clean and in a great location for many of the activities that Vermont has to offer. One of the best things is the great room with the huge welcoming fire that is always roaring! It's a great room to hang out in with friends and family. We look forward to many, many more visits to the Olympia Lodge and seeing Trish and Sal.
