If your heading to Manchester, Vermont......Manchester View is your place. The owners/staff were so hospitable and helpful in every aspect of our visit. The rooms were clean, well appointed and the views from the balcony were outstanding! The otel is close to town and the hotel staff is well versed in everything Manchester. I highly recommend this hotel. Vermont is amazing!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view....or some of their suites were lovely. We were there with college frie...

Thank you for taking the time to compliment The Manchester View. It’s the best place to stay in the area. As you noticed, our staff goes out of their way to make our guests’ stay above and beyond expectations. Your reunion group was a pleasure to host. We hope you can come back again – maybe during leaf-peeping season in autumn. Though it’s beautiful here all four seasons, autumn is extraordinary with all the colors and apple-picking. Or maybe another summer visit?

The owner and staff were so helpful and went out of their way to help us in planning weekend activities-Booked golf for us at a private country club. Assisted in bike trails routing as well as hiking trails. Without even asking brought in a tray and extra glasses for a small cocktail party we had in one of their rooms which was a beautiful suite. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The views from the resort were breathtaking. Great stay helped by a great resort, owner, and staff. Highly recommended and such a reasonable price!

We recently did a nine day trip around southern Vermont and the Berkshires. We decided to book Manchester View because of the pictures on their website of the balcony. It didn't disappoint! The room was large and nicely furnished, but the balcony was the place to be. The balcony is large with great furniture.surrounded by stunning mountain views. It was the perfect place to relax.

I was a little disappointed however, when the front desk couldn't recommend a nearby place for a picnic. One of the reasons we go to Vermont from Florida is the wonderful hiking opportunities, and we usually pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic, Also, I had to ask for decaf coffee in the Keurig coffee maker. The friendly housekeeper on our last day finally provided this for us. We also wish they had their breakfast room open. Even though we were there on Memorial Day weekend, the breakfast room wasn't open. We would have preferred to pay a small fee for a continental breakfast rather then driving a few miles away to get breakfast.

This is a wonderful place to stay, very clean with beautiful views, but unless you are really into shopping in the Manchester area, we prefer the recreational opportunities around Stowe. The resort where we stay in Stowe welcomes you with lobby coffee all day, fresh apples and afternoon cookies. Manchester View was a little smaller than that resort, but I was expecting the same kind of Vermont hospitality. Think we will keep going back to Stowe whenever we visit Vermont.

Thank you for taking the time to review The Manchester View. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the balcony so much! Every room has a balcony/deck or patio with a view.

Sorry to hear you were disappointed when our front desk staff didn’t recommend a picnic location. There are numerous places to go, so we’re disappointed, as well, in the staff member that didn’t provide you with that information you wanted in order to enjoy your stay. We hope you were able to have your picnic anyway.

We’re sorry we couldn’t accommodate your desire to eat in our breakfast room.

We don’t normally put decaf in the rooms unless the guest requests it. We do offer an array of coffee flavors in regular and decaf in our office that guests can choose to bring to their rooms.
We, too, have coffee available all day in our office, like your “resort” in Stowe. During apple picking season, we offer freshly picked apples, as well as Vermont-made maple candies all year long.

We’re not trying to compete with Stowe, as it’s a different location entirely. We do, however, take pride in all that The Manchester View offers, and welcome you back any time you find yourself in our area. We promise to put decaf in your room if you ask for it!

My husband and I LOVE Vermont and so chose to go there for a weekend getaway for our one year anniversary. Manchester view was so perfect for us. We wanted a bit nicer than your "typical " motel with views of the mountains. We got what we wanted. The rooms are decorated so nicely, not the typical "motel 6" way. King bed, fireplace, deck with beautiful views! We were very happy with our stay...haven't seen the other rooms but based on ours, would highly recommend it!

We're so glad you chose to celebrate your first anniversary with us at The Manchester View. Thank you for your glowing review - we aim to please! Each of our rooms is well-appointed and offers a deck or patio with a view or the Green Mountains, as well as a coffee maker, refrigerator and private bath. Our grounds are beautifully landscaped. And we're in a superb location.

Please join us again; no need to wait for a special occasion. The summer and autumn are wonderful times to visit, too!

My wife and I recently spent several days at the Manchester View. The room was clean and bright with beautiful views of the mountains. We enjoyed peaceful nights and sunny morning walks on the large, well maintained, grounds. There are excellent places to eat within minutes of the Manchester View. We certainly will be returning.

After 24 years I returned to the Manchester View hotel. I was happy to see that the view is just as great as 24 years ago :) And the hotel was is quiete good shape. The room smelled a little muffy, maybe because of the fireplace? Interior was just as proposed on the photo from which I booked, that's good, we had a balcony where the views were great. The staff was kind and gave us good recommendations for diner and things to do. Nice place for your Vermont trip.

Room Tip: We choose a Deluxe double room, which is the nicer one when it comes to interior (for my taste..).

Thank you so much for coming back to The Manchester View. We have owned the hotel since 1977, and are continuously updating and redecorating to keep it well-maintained, fresh and new.

Our staff is always professional, friendly and helpful. They enjoy suggesting dining options and places to visit.

We hope you don’t wait another 24 years to come back; we’d love to have you come again really soon! Perhaps a late summer visit, or autumn is especially beautiful with changing of the leaves.

The Manchester View is a very nice hotel, with great views of the Vermont mountains and foliage. The room was nicely appointed, and the beds were comfortable. Typical of a boutique lodge, the office hours were strict, and when I tried to check out at 7:30 am to hit the road for a long ride home, the office was closed and I had to just drop the key. Even though I knew months in advance of a wedding reception that I was going to attend in Manchester, I delayed reserving at this hotel because of their strict cancellation policy. Once you reserve, you get charged $30 if you cancel well in advance and the full room rate if the cancellation is within a week or so of the reservation. Plus, the hotel doesn't participate in any typical discount programs (AAA, AARP, etc., which seems counterintuitive to me). The general hotel staff was courteous, but the lady behind the desk when we checked in seemed to be somewhat bothered. Plus, although I had reserved a budget room, they had moved me to a more expensive one (at their initiative) and tried to charge me the higher rate. I would probably stay again, since it was overall a positive experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at The Manchester View. We do have breathtaking views of the Green Mountains and our landscaping is lovely. The room you were kindly upgraded to was a Queen Deluxe and you were given the Queen Standard rate. Any confusion about the rate was an accident, and quickly fixed by our desk staff.

The confirmation letter we send all guests state the office hours. Guests are informed the office is open until 9 p.m. and we ask that guests call if they’ll be late. We did not receive a call from you; as we always do, we put out an envelope with your key, a map showing where your room is located and a welcome letter. The confirmation letter also states the office opens at 8 a.m. We've never had guests complain about this. If they leave before 8, they just leave their key in the room.

As for our cancellation policy, it is the same as all the other inns and motels in the area. There is a $35 cancellation fee, if cancelled 14 days or more before the reservation. The deposit of one night or 50% on a multiple night stay is forfeited if cancelled less than 14 days prior to the reservation, unless we can sell the room to another guest.

The Manchester View doesn’t generally discount our rates since we offer the lowest available rate at the time of booking.

In your situation, we allowed a one-night reservation on Memorial holiday weekend Saturday. This is usually not done because holidays may have a multiple night minimum.

We’re a little confused by your statement “the lady behind the desk when we checked in seemed to be somewhat bothered”. Your earlier comments mentioned that you arrived after hours, and you stayed one night and left early, so you couldn’t have had any interaction with our staff. Either way, we take pride in our staff being professional, friendly and helpful.

Thanks for staying with us, and if you’re ever back in the area, we'd be happy for you to come again!
