“Quirky and a little dated but excellent all the same”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

We ended up here by chance having not made a reservation and having tried two or three other places first.

We really enjoyed staying here.

The owners were really nice.

The room was huge with a lovely view, comfy beds and spotlessly clean. The garden at the back was fantastic.

The room was a bit dated but this did not matter. We paid $100 for the room and it was the best value for money room we had in our entire trip (we stayed in eight different places).

Thank you very much Toll Road in people for a lovely stay. Highly recommended.

Generously sized room. Big window overlooking a stream and nice garden. In the autumn the colours are fantastic. It's so comforting to sleep in a quiet room and to wake up and see a great view. The owners are very proffesional and helpful. Rooms are big and very clean. Great value for the money.

Room Tip: It is not so easy to find a place so close to the road and so quiet. I do like room # 203.

In town to attend a wedding at the Equinox. A group of us stayed at the Toll House and we were so happy we did. The rooms are enormous. Each features a large picture window looking out the back over a stream and gardens where you can actually sit in the sun (or shade) and read or just take in the views. Baths were immaculate and the continental breakfast featured muffins right out of the oven. The owners obviously take pride in their establishment. It would be fun to sit around the neat fireplace in the winter. Very reasonably priced.

We selected Toll Road Inn based on the Trip Advisor recommendations & we were not disappointed. A group of us were traveling on motorcycles and needed five rooms. The innkeepers Richard & Maria were very accommodating from locating our rooms next to each other, making us comfortable in the rustic sitting room & giving us a great dinner recommendation. The rooms were clean & spacious and a continental breakfast of cereals, toast, muffins, juice & coffee were included. We all would definitely stay here again!

We had a really large room over-looking a brook. The design of this hotel is such that all rooms have this lovely view. The room was spotless and comfortable, and well-equipped.
Continental self-serve breakfast is served in an unusual room that has the shape of a cathedral with a fire place in the middle. It is both cozy and spacious. Maria is a very friendly and informative host. There is a nice -sized outdoor swimming pool and a hot tub. The grounds are pretty and well-kept with places to sit by the brook. The location is convenient to local hiking and sites. We had a lovely stay and would definitely visit again.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to face the brook side which is quieter and more scenic; it is well-designed. We enjo...

Never been to the area before. Invited to a destination wedding at the Equinox Resort. No way we're going to pay more than $400 per night. Toll Road Inn reviews seemed ok. Well, yes! OK, no flat panel TV. But for what we saved, we could have bought a flat panel and left it! Generously sized room. Overlooking a lovely stream. Pool was not heated and too cool in September, but the hot tub was wonderful. Bathroom is newly re-tiled and spotless. Bed was excellent. Put your savings in your retirement account or a college account. Stay on the second floor for the vaulted ceiling.

When we researched the lodgings in the area we found great reviews about the inn. We found it to be an excellent place compared to the other lodgings on Rt. 11. We were greeted warmly by Maria, the innkeeper. Maria and her husband Richard are gentle people. The room was wonderful with a big window that we could view the brook and the lovely gardens. We walked down to the brook. The breakfast room seems warm and cozy. The continental breakfast was great every morning.
Maria extends her hospitality every morning. She assists her guests with tips on the attractions.
