My fiance and I stayed for two nights at the Equinox Spa & Resort. We ate at the Marsh Tavern for the first night. The bread basket they served at the beginning of the meal was fantastic. It came with three types of bread (flatbread, scone, and a hearty country white) and three accompanying spreads (hummus, jalapeno jelly and fresh butter). We started by sharing the local charcuterie plate (salami, duck terrine, and a local cheddar) which was also excellent. For our entrees, my fiance chose the short ribs and I got the bouillabaisse. Both dishes were sorely lacking. The short ribs were tough and did not have any sauce. Short ribs should just fall apart, but he had to cut into them with a steak knife. My bouillabaisse was served over overcooked angel hair and accompanied by two pieces of bread that were slathered with this garlic butter spread that was not appetizing at all.
This place should be much better than it is, especially for the prices it charges. Our meal (a shared appetizer and two entrees, no beverages) came to $110. Too expensive for mediocre food.
