“Beautiful Resort !”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

I just came back from a couple of days at this resort and have nothing to complain about. I was a little worried when they told me that we were in the townhouses in the back after reading all the comments on Trip Advisor... WHAT A MISTAKE !! The room we had had a kingsize bed very comfortable for 2 people. Plenty of room, 2 chairs to sit and a very large bathroom with 2 sinks and the toilet and shower had a door separating them. Everything you needed was there (except for a coffee maker) but my husband went in the morning to get it :) We ate both nights at the Marsh Tavern as we did not want to have to drive anywhere and both nights the food was delicious. All the staff is very friendly and willing to help in anyway possible. We will definitely be back as we want to try the golf course !!

They show off the pool and spa because that is highly rated. The lounge is a joke-$10 for a small glass of wine. And our room was so small that we had to use the bed for everything. There was no chair, no desk, and very little room to walk around and a small bathroom on top of that! No coffee, no hair dryer, 0 amenities!!

The spa has a wonderful swimming pool and exercise facilities with a very attentive and friendly staff. The facility has plenty of light (so many hotel spas are jammed in the basement) and accessible parking, although for hotel guests it means walking to another building. A large choice of exercise programs and treatments is available. The building is simple in construction, maybe a bit old-fashioned, but true to its New England roots. The staff's attention to detail is a marvel and the place is spotless.
I have not stayed at the hotel, as I have a home in the area.

My wife and I went to the area for the weekend. We pulled up to the resort where there was several valets at the front driveway. I waited for my wife to check in at the resort front desk and after checking in. We went to a building around the back of the resort separate from the main building. Parking was limited and we ended up parking on the grass.
The Room, we had paid an additional charge to upgrade to a king bed and the bed itself was fine. There was an odor in the room and I am not sure if it was like a wet wood type smell or a fresh paint smell.
The decor in the bathroom was dated, I put it at early 90's, one sink did not work and the quality of the construction was cabin like.
Sleeping, like I said the construction is very poor and you can hear people cough, talk etc. above and next door to you. We were in luck as a wedding party had put up several older relatives next to us and not so much noise from them. Upstairs however the small children were a little louder, but bed time was early. Other than hearing the parents get up to go to the bathroom during the night we didn't hear much from them. We felt as if we knew them after our stay...

These units need to be gutted and remodeled professionally.

Room Tip: I would guess a second floor room, so you cannot hear the people walking above you.

My partner and I recieved a gift for a one night stay at this hotel. The welcome was nice and then we went to our townhouse. It was on the first floor. My initial reaction when we opened the door was as the heading states. No amenities whatsoever. I mean even at motel 6 you get a small fridge, a coffee pot, some chairs a maybe even a table to sit at. Here, nothing but a bed, too big for the small room, maybe 10 by 10. A two drawer dresser? that was inside of the closet that stood in front of the door. Using the bathroom sink required you to shut the door. So, it was the bed and only the bed you get to sit at. Would not recommend this townhouse for the price of $ 340.00 per night. Stay away from that part of it. Oh yeah, they did offer us a free breakfast for compensation but no reduction in monetary terms. We smiled politely and left.

Room Tip: For the townhouse the second floor seems to be quite a bit larger but also more expensive.

We picked the Equinox for our wedding anniversary in the Fall. The hotel is a great property set in a beautiful part of Vermont. The Spa and associated restaurants were fantastic and our standard room was also set up nicely and a good size. A few details of our stay were below expectations but to the total credit of the hotel staff they recognized issues and sought to resolve them with us, for the most part successfully.

The service at the beginning was great (nice valet men to great you) but then declined upon entering the Townhomes. We entered the main hallway to our 1st floor king bedroom (which was a $20 upgrade + tax) and was astonished at how outdated (the room and bathroom cabinets looked like they had been there since the 80's) and dirty (skid marks on the walls and doors - even parts where I couldn't understand what it would have been, bathtub bottom scratched and would not drain when taking a shower, and dirty bathroom counter were) the hallway and room were. After reading the reviews below, I can see what everyone means. The room is extremely small with 2 closests, with one massive enough to sleep in? The walls paper thin (could hear people stomping upstairs), the internet botchy and slow when it decided to work, and paid movies out of synch with sound and picture. Checked out the hot tub thinking I could relax, and it turns out to be outside, not to temp, and start button not functioning, and to top it was small enough for only 2 or people to fit in. Wow... to end, did not receive morning paper and we got charged for the room on our credit card despite the fact of having a voucher. I called and it took them all day to get back to me and received an incorrect "updated" receipt STILL stating the charge to the credit card.
