“Disappointment - awful service!!!”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

Went to the place on a Friday night at 5. I've only ever sat outside on previous trips and had margaritas and apps. Our waitress was so incredibly rude (old and cranky), like this was the last place on earth she'd rather be. I mean seriously why waitress if you DON'T LIKE PEOPLE! Drinks took forever, she forgot things and the prices were outrageous (in a bad way). Do not go here.

“Tex-Mex in Manchester”
Reviewed October 15, 2012 via mobile

We're visiting Manchester for our anniversary and were looking for a gluten free/friendly place to eat. Gringo Jacks popped up on every site we searched.

Right from the 1st we knew this place was special.

Our server, Jenn, couldn't have been more helpful, friendly, and just an all around nice person.

The food was fantastic, the portions large and very reasonably priced.

If it's any indication of how much we liked it we went back the next day for lunch.

Well worth a stop when you're in this beautiful part of Vermont

“Awesome Experience”

Went with company from Wisconsin to dinner last nite at Gringo Jack's. Wow ! We had a great meal. The plate presentation was Art like and the atmosphere was festive for a Friday nite. The place was packed and the staff handled our needs as if we were the only ones there. Server never skipped a beat as far as service, although she was busy. The entree's were amazing, varied offerings, diverse use of sauces and spices, everyone was thrilled with there choices. Great menu,Great service,Great Value,Great friends Love Vermont !!!! Love Gringo Jack's !!!!

“Nice bar, friendly people”

Good bartender; friendly owner; tasty shrimp and generous drinks. I'd recommend it and will try the dining room menu next time. Appeared popular with the local folks.

“mediocre”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

We got into town late, needed someplace easy, no reservations, and saw this place. The outdoor tropical landscape was very inviting. I had the pulled pork tacos with a slaw dressing on flour tortillas. The pork was very dry; it didn’t have any sauce or juices to help. The slaw was decent but it just sat on top of the dry meat and didn’t have any particular flavor, mayo or vinegar base; hard to discern. I couldn’t recommend them. Other person had the chicken enchilada and it was swimming in a pool of a tomato based red sauce. You get a basket of chips and a small cup of salsa on the house. Salsa had that chili flavor that I am not found of. Three of us had the same opinion of the food, we were starving and it filled our stomachs but quality was just OK. The saving grace of the meal was the excellent guacamole, made to order. We ordered 4 margaritas from their drink menu which I don’t recall seeing the prices and was shocked to see the total of just the drinks was $78! Holy Cow! Shame on me for not paying attention or asking first. This is the first time looking at the reviews and now I know why the place was empty at 8pm on a Friday night on Columbus Day Weekend. The waiter was very good, attentive without bugging us. Food and drinks were brought timely, probably because we were the only ones in the place. This might be one of those places that you have to find what they do good and stick to that one thing.
