“Just what we needed.”

Stayed there two nights for a hunting trip. The rooms are clean, service is good, bathrooms have been recently upgraded and are very nice. Only glitch was no hot water one afternoon, quickly taken care of.

Fine for this off season (we're not leaf peepers) trip for basic accommodations with adequate room for gear and even a dog crate (barely).

Dog friendly which is a big plus for the hunting classes; you definitely need a dog for grouse and woodcock hunting and a place that will welcome them in chilly weather.

Inexpensive, and good when you're not looking for anything but a comfy place to stay and regroup for the next day.

I was pleasently surprised with this motel. I didin't expect a lot of it, and thought the room was really clean and quite modern. I think they have renovated lately. It is a good choice for a stay in beautiful Manchester. It is close to all the restaurants and shops. The staff was also nice and helpfull. The only thing was the breakfeast offered did not have a lot of choice and was served in the lobby were there is not a lot of place to seat.

Our 3 night anniversary stay at avalanche motel FIne Lodging was enjoyable for the quiet and beautiful location and views just a few minutes from Manchester Center, VT, and our favorite Northshire bookstore, Southern Vermont Art Center, and several excellent restaurants. We plan to return from time to time

rooms are brand new and super clean, new owners couple being extremely helpful in showing directions, providing shuttle service to town and back to the Apalachian Trail. I am glad I stayed here. The new bathrooms are awesome!

We enjoyed our stay at the Avalanche Motel. The rooms are newly renovated and the staff was friendly and helpful. It has new owners and I think they are doing a fine job fixing the place up. The location was perfect for us. We were attending a wedding in Rupert and all the other local places were too expensive for us (because we needed two rooms) and most places required a two night minimum. Perfect for leaf peeping etc if u don't need a fancy place. Lastly we were able to bring our family pet for a small fee. Overall it offered decent, clean rooms at a nice price plus free breakfast with delicious, fresh waffles included on the price.

Apparently new owners. Lovely people who always asked how we were doing; genuinely caring about our comfort. The breakfast was simple but perfect. I've had worse at more upscale inns. All I need is OJ, tea/coffee, fresh fruit. This hotel provided that and more, with the typical make-your-own waffles, bagels, bread, cold cereal.
Our King Bedroom was recently painted and had new carpeting; the furniture was old, but functional. The mattress looked new and was comfortable. The bathroom was completely updated and was very, very clean. Set back from Route 30, the hotel was surprisingly very quiet. The accommodations are basic. For $99 a night during summer "high season" in Manchester, the price was right. A comfortable and clean step- up from cabin camping.

Stayed there recently during the horse show. The new owners have made huge improvements. The rooms are small and basic, but clean and comfortable. The bath was brand new with all nice tile. I had a nice quiet room overlooking the backyard with a window that opened. There was no road noise from Route 30 at night. The breakfast was good also, and the juice and fruit were available early in the am. I paid half of what I paid at another hotel in Manchester the previous weekend and slept just as well. It's not fancy, but if you are not there to hang around the hotel it's a perfect place to stay. The owner told me they are going to change the name, and next year it will be an Econo-Lodge.
