We've been there many times during peak fall foliage. Price is reasonable, location and grounds are excellent, bed is comfortable, rooms are large with plenty of shelf space for personal items. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. This time, we were given a room that was smaller than previous. Despite virtually full occupancy, they cheerfully found a room more to our liking and were able to rearrange to suit us. For those who haven't been there, rooms are dated and breakfast is sub par so we prefer to eat in in one of the many local excellent breakfast places. No big deal since room rates are very reasonable, esp for peak season.

The main building is an updated old motel style with both front and back entrance doors. The front opens to a very nicely maintain landscape with outdoor pool and tennis courts. The back walks out to the parking lot where your car is steps away. Inside the room was very big with a loveseat, chair, coffee table, desk set, and others. There was a room beside the full bath with another bathroom type sink, large counter, and a good size fridge. There was also an indoor lap pool which was great for me as I swim laps at the YMCA daily. That building also had a nice mini-locker room with shower.

So why not 5 stars, actually I probably might have gone 4 and a half stars if that was an option, but there were a few issues, first, my room was not ready when we arrived around 3:15 PM, but they upgraded us into another (better) room so that was awesome. My only complaints the bed and pillows just were not the most comfortable, the Wi-Fi (like in most hotels) was not great, the shower (with 3 handles) was a little tricky to control and last the continental breakfast was pretty non-existent for us as we don’t eat carbs (bread/cereal).

All in all, I would highly recommend the Palmer House and will stay here again if I’m in the area.

Room tip: Our room, number 25 was great!

Beautiful, very friendly and helpful staff, clean and cozy! Lots to do on property and a short walk into the town. I stayed here for ITVFet and it was the Perfect home away from home. I already want to go back now!

Brought 3 students from NVU Lyndon to experience the ITVFest and everything was good. We stayed over four nights. Enjoyed the spacious rooms, easy parking, location to town, golfing and the breakfast room. What more can a professor ask for!

Room tip: Glasses and mugs instead of plastic cus for water and paper cups for coffee.

Been to Manchester many times but the quaint country vibe is now being used an excuse. Wifi either did not work at all or was so slow as to be useless. Response....oh we likely do not gave the best service here, but why don't you go to the library to use the internet? Are you kidding me? Breakfast, asked for whole wheat bread and they were out. Person told manager they were getting multiple requests and got a we will have to think about that response....and so it goes.

Thank you for taking time to write a review of our property.

We apologize for your wi-fi issues that you had while in Vermont.

I purchase bread every day for our free breakfast and am not quite sure what think about it means.

We are hoping to expand our breakfast room so we can expand our choices in the future.
