My adult family and three grandchildren traveled to the Wilburton Inn in order to be part of our daughters wedding. We stayed for two nights in the Hand House on the property and the girls stayed in the bridal suite within the mansion. From the moment we arrived until we departed, the staff was superb.
Because of the wonderful experience we hope to return in order to reexperience the cleanliness, and professionalism we experienced.

We arrived in the late evening to the beautifully lit and welcoming mansion. Even though we were tired it was so fascinating to look at the artwork and tastefully arranged photos and memorabilia. A beautiful staircase led to us to our room that was spotless with lots of space to spread out. Beds were perfectly comfortable and the bathroom was clean and well appointed. You won't find cookie cutter stamped out accommodations here, what you will find is charm, character and elegance that sets this inn apart. Take the time to peruse the sculpture garden - it is more than meets the eye and if you have the opportunity to learn about it from Albert, you will be well rewarded. Georgette is charming and well-informed on interesting goings on in the area. We had a lovely stay and plan to be back!

We stayed in what used to be the master bedroom of this former mansion. The view from our king sized bed was of Vermont mountains, simply breathtaking! Room 3 is huge, has a completely renovated bathroom with a huge shower, and two person whirlpool tub. The room was specially cleaned for us because the bathroom renovations had taken longer than planned. The staff made every effort to make us comfortable. A lovely meal was served on our first night as part of a special Winter Package. I had braised short ribs that were tender and flavorful. Cate had salmon with a tomato salsa that she enjoyed. Each morning of your stay you'll enjoy a made to order breakfast. Both mornings there were also mini homemade cinnamon rolls(yummy) and fruit. This morning there was also fresh homemade bread made by the owner's son who is also an organic farmer.. The owner who had just returned from Aruba spent time talking with us, as did the innkeeper, his sister. Though this is an elegant restored mansion, it's not pretentious and we felt very comfortable. We will definitely return. If you're interested in having a wedding or family reunion, this is the place! Besides the rooms in the main house, there are various houses for rent on the property. Check it out!

My sister and I met at a halfway location for a weekend of skiing, shopping and getting away from the habitual drain of everyday life and found a wonderfully relaxed, yet intellectually stimulating surrounding to envelope our senses. The victorian antique charm was comfortably felt in our room, and all common areas of the mansion. Pictorial Vt. scenes swept out every window. Staff were pleasant and accommodating and the owners, who happen to be present ,were very engaging. Dinner before a roaring fireplace was superb! The fish chowder was the best I have ever had. Special bread baked by the owners son was delicious. The weekend there slowed my racing head and helped me to return to work with a renewed presence.

Yes, there is sculpture all over the grounds. Yes, the owner, Albert, likes to discuss his sculptures in depth, BUT, that's the charm of this place. He calls it the Museum of the Creative Process, if you don't like it- THATS OK! That's the point! Art is not meant to be liked by all.

We were in Vermont looking for the "perfect" wedding location. And after visiting a NUMBER of other locations around Southern Vermont, we landed in Manchester. Let me tell you, just driving up the long, winding driveway makes you feel transported to another time.

After a nice discussion with Albert and another weekend visit, we settled on having our wedding here. I am sure our guests will love the charm of the property as much as we did.

Note: this is not a resort/spa/luxury hotel. This B&B is meant for the creative type! Enjoy! Will re-update when we have our wedding!!!

The Wilburton Inn is a gracious, elegant, and most welcoming destination for any visitor to Vermont. The grounds are magnificent, and the Inn is as charming and comfortable as any place I have ever stayed. Definitely plan dinner in the dining room. The chef is superior and the food is scrumptious. The Innkeepers Georgette and Albert will make you feel that you have known them forever. A definite return trip.

My wife and I got married with a small group at the inn, and it could not have gone any better. The staff was very attentive to our needs, and the the owners (Georgette and Albert) were very hospitable. The Inn has a casual yet elegant feel, which is exactly what we wanted. Scot, who made the arrangements for us in terms of the wedding, went out of his way to make sure things went as we wanted. The grounds of the inn are very interesting the views (in my opinion) are the best in town. I would highly recommend the Wilburton to anyone looking for a casual, quiet getaway. The innkeepers make you feel right at home. Tell Georgette and Albert that Mike and Laura sent you! You won't regret the visit.
