My husband and I visited this historic home of the Lincoln Family. The short film at the Welcome Center is worth the time to view, then we set off for the home. We toured the beautiful gardens out back, shaped to look like a stained glass window when in full bloom. Inside the home, there were rooms depicting the way the residents lived, including servants quarters. There is also a 1,000 pipe organ that is playing when you enter the home, amazing! Also on the grounds is the Pullman Car, Robert Todd Lincoln being the Chairman of the Pullman Company. There is also a barn with goats, and an observatory, the highest spot on the property. It has amazing views! The home is maintained by the community of Manchester. Although it is a self-guided tour, you can hop on one of the red open air buses that go by to return to the Welcome Center. We are glad to have spent the afternoon, and do recommend going if you are in Manchester!
