“Nice Hotel in a Great Setting”
Reviewed November 29, 2013 via mobile

I stayed at The Equinox for one night earlier this month and was very satisfied with my experience. The building has over two hundred years of history and is grand and well kept. The rooms are spacious and clean. The service was good as well. Best of all is the setting. Certain rooms have spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. I also ate at the attached Chop House steak house. The food was very good as was was the service.

There were only two negative things about my stay. The lobby had a slightly musty, stale smell and the television in our room had pretty poor picture quality.

Overall, though, I would recommend this hotel and be happy to return.

On a cold and crisp Sunday afternoon my girlfriend and I pulled up in front of The Equinox for a quick little getaway. One friendly greeting after another we found ourselves at the check in desk and we were informed of a room upgrade coming our way. The room they put us in was suberb, warm, comfortable and cozy.
This was just the beginning of one nice turn after another the staff at the Eqinox sent our way. We had a fabulous time and can't wait for our return visit.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade, you might just get lucky like we did.

Outstanding service and genuine caring was on display at all times. The hotel's offer of a car service to restaurants and in town areas affords that extra comfort for guests that have traveled considerable distances to get to the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask in advance for a plan showing the room layout in relation to all the other amenities the hotel o...

We traveled from Central Connecticut and had a wonderful 3 days in the Manchester, Vermont area celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary. We've been to the Equinox several times and look forward to being pampered by the professional, courteous and most helpful staff. The physical space exudes warmth and one cannot help but relax. Dinner in the Tavern was an excellent experience-great food selection, preparation and service. We also enjoyed the extensive shopping venues within a short distance of the hotel and local museums.

We stayed at the Equinox this past weekend with my son and his girlfriend. We loved the hotel as did they. It was just superb. The beds were extremely comfortable and spotless. I normally don't walk barefoot anywhere, but was comfortable doing so at the Equinox. It is truly a resort there. You feel special from the moment you step through the door. The pool looks so inviting so next time we will plan to bring our bathsuits to enjoy the ambience there. We are anxious to return.

Room Tip: Corner room was very spacious and great view.

Recently spent 3 nights at the Equinox to celebrate our Mother's 80th birthday. This was my third visit to the resort. Accommodations were lovely and spacious. Food is amazing and they will cater to any special allergies, gluten, etc. Spa is serene and relaxing. Great local shopping. Wonderful scenery for hikers!

Room Tip: We had 2 rooms on the 4th floor that were adjoining but not connected. Very quiet.

We experienced a wonderful stay at the Equinox Hotel. It is in a beautiful location surrounded by spectacular mountains, in the large historic town of Manchester, VT. With many options for high end shopping outlets and fun. The hotel is a lovely place. A historic landmark where Mary Todd Lincoln came for a respite in the 1800's and her son never forgot it and settled into the area, where you can visit his 28 room house & gardens. So the hotel is from 1860, but had a huge modern update which was done very classy. There is an extremely professional staff that are always helpful and kind. I asked about the type of food served in their restaurants & lounge and within 2 minutes menus were brought to my room. Area restaurants and activities were given to us with maps & directions. The food is fine dining at its best in the Chop House. In you are into nature, shopping, or more city like activities, you have the best of both worlds here. This is one beautiful place you will not want to miss...P.S. -They don't even let you leave without giving you delicious home made donuts.

Room Tip: Stay in the main hotel
