We stay at the Best Western in Ludlow several times each winter and usually once in the summer or fall and have never had a problem. The owner is friendly and helpful. The room is more than adequate with new mattresses and bedding, the location is right in the heart of town and just a few minutes from Okemo.

My wife and I decided on a last minute mini ski vacation to Vermont. We had Okemo ski area on our sights but where to stay? The list of BnBs in Ludlow as well as the surrounding area is pretty extensive (and somewhat expensive). We opted for the Best Western. This Best Western is a no-frills hotel. We had a nice comfortable and clean room that had a microwave (we made popcorn) and a mini-fridge. With our room, we got the ski package which included lift tickets for Okemo at a slightly discounted price. The front desk will present you with a voucher upon check-in and it is redeemable (only done 1 time) at Okemo for the appropriate number of days lift ticket). Each morning, a semi-buffet breakfast is served in a room attached to the main lobby. It is nothing special but a nice way to start the day. Expect a waffle machine, yogurt, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, as well as coffee, tea, and hot chocolate as well as a couple of juices. The breakfast is what really keeps me from giving the hotel a 5th star. Unfortunately, the breakfast room (if cleaned) was not cleaned very well each day. The tables were sticky (probably due to spilled syrup) and the counters very similar. Though we didn't use it, there was also a fitness center in a separate building as well as a pool (summer months only) on the property. The staff was very nice and each day, our room was cleaned and our bed made nicely. We were told for future stays to request to stay in the Brick House. Apparently, it is an accompanying building on the property that is a "mini" house that is much homier and nicer than the standard rooms and costs the same to stay. I would stay again here, what I enjoyed the most was the location at the end of town. After skiing, it was very easy (and scenic) to just walk up the main street (stop on the bridge over the stream to get a beautiful mountain view) and go to any restaurant. I do hope the BW takes a more aggressive approach to their sanitary habits regarding the breakfast room in the future so I can give them the 5th "star."

Room Tip: Ask for the "Brick House."

This is the 4th time I've stayed at this hotel. I like the location as it is very close to Ludlow and there are some excellant restaurants that are within walking distance. The beds in our room were extremely comfortable and seemed to be brand new. All in all it is your average BW. My problem is the price I was quoted over the phone was not the price I was charged at leaving. I would strongly suggest that you get a confirmation in writing before checking in.

comfortable bed, clean bathroom. good breakfast options with hot waffles and other good choices. although the grounds maintenance could be better- my husband fell on some ice outside near the stairs.

Please do not waste your time with this DUMP...!! The beds are broken, and the rooms smell of MOLD!! When I told the front desk of the issue with the bed, of course they told me all the bed's are being replaced on the 18th of January, 2012, 5 days after our stay was over.....We skipped the final night of our reservation to head back home. The owner could care less for the up-keep of this property and the rooms. For what they charge they should be ashamed.....Please don't waste your time or $$ here, you will be upset !!

Room Tip: Don't even bother

This was always a very nice hotel. We are not Best western hotel patrons normally but we always stayed here on our way through Vermont and just found it to be quaint, charming, and pleasant.
Not anymore!!

It has gone down hill fast and the attention to detail is nil. the carpets, bed covers, and towels all need to be trashed and redone. the place is sinking fast.
