This the 2nd year in a row that we have stayed at The Jackson Gore Inn for an overnight after a 100 mile team relay race and we will continue to stay here year after year. The Inn, staff, convenience & activities are all top notch. They are great with our late check in (we always call 1st to let them know we will be late) but regardless they are still very welcoming.

Room Tip: We like the 3 bedroom suites for our team. There is a lot of room for many people.

What a great place to reconnect with the family! Just enough activities to keep everyone happy but not so much to exhaust you. I loved the wide open spaces and the areas for the kids to just "play" and be kids. So laid back and relaxing with people walking with their dogs it felt like a special little neighborhood. From the moment we checked in the staff was all welcoming and friendly. The pool was fantastic....where else can you have a view like that while you swim. Our unit was beautiful and clean and so comfortable we actually decided to skip going out for dinner one night and make use of the full kitchen and eat in. This was our first visit but DEFINETLY not our last.

My wife and I take a lot of motorcycle rides into VT (from NJ) and like to stay at different locations. This weekend we headed to Okemo not knowing were we would stay. We drove around and when we saw Jackson Gore we knew we have reached our location. it is a nice resort, with lots of summer activiies. After riding for 6 hours on the motorcycle we just wanted to relax at the bar and have a few drinks. The bar staff was all very nice, as were all in the hotel. Dinning at the hotel was great; we ate both dinner & breakfast at the hotel. It was nice not having to get back on the bike to go out to eat. We didnt do any of the many activities at the Adenture Zone but it looked fun. Rain was threatening in the AM so we just left to head back to NJ. We are thinking of coming back to hit the slopes in the winter.

Jackson Gore Inn sits about two miles past the Okemo Mountain base area. You drive up a short hill and see quality right away: three attractive, newer (4-7 years old for the various buildings I was told) buildings, along with the Icehouse (skating in winter, basketball and tennis in summer) and the Springhouse (indoor heated pool, kiddie pool, hot tub, racquetball, gym, yoga room), and the Roundhouse (function space, I think).

Check in was a breeze and parking is free.

Room: There are a variety of accommodation choices. We stayed in a one-bedroom suite with a separate bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed and its own bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. The living area had a small foyer with tons of closet space (probably more valuable in winter) that led into a small but fully outfitted kitchen (stove, dishwasher, microwave, cabinets, plates, pans, posts, silverware, etc.), and then the living room with a pullout queen sofa (not comfortable!) and a pull-down queen Murphy bed (very comfortable). There is a fireplace (works in summer too) and flat screen TV. We had a great view of the mountain and Adventure Zone.

Food: We ate at the Friday outdoor barbecue. Decent BBQ, nothing special, about $50 for four of us, wine and beer included. Great outdoor dining and sitting space with tables, a fire pit and pretty courtyard area. There is one open restaurant in the summer (not sure why the others were closed -- it would help with variety); food looked good (we did not eat there) but it was pricey and a bit upscale for the only open option. The hotel also had a nice lobby bar for snacks and drinks. While we ate we enjoyed the free summer concert series.

Pools: Two pools, one outdoor, one indoor (in Springhouse) and both heated and nice. The outdoor pool was our preference. It starts indoors with a little swim-in area (to help winter swimmers) and leads outside to a large pool area. There are two outdoor hot tubs, and a large indoor one that must hold 10-15 people. There is a sauna and steam room, and lockers and showers. Very nice. Wish they had food and bar service nearby though. The indoor pool was L-shaped, with an area for lap swimming. There is water basketball and a small slide that is much more fun and fast than it looks. Pool is heated nicely. There's a huge hot tub here too. And there's a nice kiddie area with a small slide and splash pool. We did not use the gym or racquetball but both looked nice; rentals for rackets and balls were inexpensive.

Adventure Zone: So much fun -- I hesitated on spending $49 per person ($39 for hotel guests) but it was well-worth it. Jumping off the 30-foot high platform into the big air bag is terrifying and exciting. Nice mini-golf course (not a cheap temporary one either), trampolines, fun mountain coaster, frisbee golf, a real four-hole family golf course, Segways and more. We spent hours there, sometimes just watching people muster the courage to jump off the big air platform.

We got a good rate due to a promotion for a bicycle race. If not for that, this would be an expensive destination, and that's my only complaint.

We stayed last spring with friends at the Jackson Gore Inn at Okemo. We were delighted with the Inn and the accommodations were fabulous. Our kids loved the Spring House Pool and we enjoyed relaxing in the jacuzzi after a great spring ski day.
Our youngest who was five did all day ski school all three days we were there. We were worried she wouldn't want to go all day, but after day one she demanded to go to ski school. Her instructors were attentive to her needs and she skied and ate and played the whole time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the mountain. Great view and you can watch your friends and kids coming down t...

This was our second conference experience at Jackson Gore. With one minor exception our stay was very enjoyable. The enjoyable part first. Front desk help was excellent, from a very helpful voice on the phone making our reservations to an easy check out the friendly staff was very helpful. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable including a sitting area with a sofa and a fireplace. I will say the mattress and the TV had seen better days and were in need of replacement. The bathroom was also spacious and clean with a jacuzzi tub as well as a shower.
We enjoyed the outside pool area and while we did not use the inside pool it seemed well taken care of and well used even in the summer. We did rent a segway one of the days and enjoyed the tour of the grounds and the bunny slope. We had a good teacher/guide and learned a great deal about using the machine. We also enjoyed the proximity to Weston Priory, only 20 minutes away in Weston VT.
Minor glitch was the food at the Coleman Brook Tavern on Thursday evening. It was poorly prepared. We found out the next day that the chef was off on Thursday that week. The rest of the weekend the food was good.
Jackson Gore is a good location for a Conference/vacation. Friday evening concert is great fun.

Jackson Gore is a very nice hotel, particularly when compared to the competition in the area. Unfortunately, this is the aspect that is most exploited by the owners. Prices here rival those at some of the finest lodgings in many more highly desirable locations.

Rooms here are nice and seem to aspire to a level of finish and amenities that might warrant the price. Unfortunately, the hotel always falls short of those aspirational goals.

For dining, we tried the Coleman Brook Tavern. The food was good, the service was not, and, as expected, the prices did not match the product (too high).

All in all, if you have the money and value is not important, this may be for you. If not, drive a little further and find better deals.
