“Okemo Mountain”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

Okemo is a great all year round resort. In the winter it is a great family ski area with plenty of great blues and gentle slopes for young and old. It's a super place to teach too. The main base lodge gets pretty crowded for lunch so I would suggest using the Jackson Gore lodge if you are not staying directly on the mountain. They have lots of properties around the slopes and a very nice hotel located at the Jackson Gore section of the resort so there is never an issue with places to stay. My only suggestion to improve is to increase the number of 'black' rated slopes. This is not the area to challenge yourself ... which is OK! Oh, they also have some great terrain parks for all abilities.

During the spring, summer and fall months there is also plenty to do. The Timber Ripper is a favorite with our little ones and there is a new ropes course, mini golf, climbing wall etc (see their website for details). One of our great favorites in the summer is the free concerts on Friday nights. We bring a lawn chair (we're locals), a picnic dinner and get together with friends out on the lawn by Jackson Gore. Kids dance and play to the music and there's plenty of toe tapping.

“Great family skiing”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

There wasn't a ton of snow in the region, but Okemo had the most trails and lifts going. They did a great job grooming and there was plenty of skiing for all levels of skill.

“Family friendly”

Great staff at ticket counter. Also we liked that a voucher was offered due to the rain one day. The snow making was wonderful once the temps dropped.

“Great cruiser terrain”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

Okemo's strong suit is its long blue cruisers - perhaps the best in the East at this. Fortunately for me, a 40-something snowboarder, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Good for families too.
Suprised to recently read that Okemo pulls more skier visits than Stratton and Mt Snow. Okemo gives off a more natural, low key vibe, whereas Snow and Stratton feel like up-n-down factories.
I like the half-day specials for VT/NH residents on Sundays!
