Okemo is a great all year round resort. In the winter it is a great family ski area with plenty of great blues and gentle slopes for young and old. It's a super place to teach too. The main base lodge gets pretty crowded for lunch so I would suggest using the Jackson Gore lodge if you are not staying directly on the mountain. They have lots of properties around the slopes and a very nice hotel located at the Jackson Gore section of the resort so there is never an issue with places to stay. My only suggestion to improve is to increase the number of 'black' rated slopes. This is not the area to challenge yourself ... which is OK! Oh, they also have some great terrain parks for all abilities.
During the spring, summer and fall months there is also plenty to do. The Timber Ripper is a favorite with our little ones and there is a new ropes course, mini golf, climbing wall etc (see their website for details). One of our great favorites in the summer is the free concerts on Friday nights. We bring a lawn chair (we're locals), a picnic dinner and get together with friends out on the lawn by Jackson Gore. Kids dance and play to the music and there's plenty of toe tapping.
