I had my daughter and grand-daughter spend the afternoon at the Adventure Zone at Okemo Mountain. They were treated exceptionally well by the staff which added to a great time. My grand-daughter had the best time on the coaster zipping down the mountain. They both went up the climbing wall but my daughter wasn't as adventurous as her daughter to jump off the ski jump into the huge bag. If the weather wasn't so hot I would have joined them at the disk throwing course. I do want to go back and ride the segway. I love seways since my trip to Boston Segway Tours and going through the trails of Okemo will be fantastic fun.

Sunscreen and a hat are well advised for the summer heat along with a bottle of water to make the day more enjoyable.

Took the zipline adventure today. Awesome! Two guides with six guests was just the right ratio.
we took 7 ziplines and 3 rappels. The guides really make it fun by giving you different positions to try while you zip. You don't have to do it their way, but being daring is part of the fun. The safey equipment is redundant so it is really safe. The biggest hurdle is learning to trust the equipment when you step off a platform 50 feet in the air into space with just the zipline holding you.
Will definitely do this again. My grandson also did the coaster which he said was great and the big air bag jump. He said both were great.

The Adventure Zone at Okemo Mountain offers a number of family activities but our group only did 3: Timber Ripper; Amp Energy Big Air Bag and Sawyer's Sweep Zipline Tour.
The 2 hour Sawyer's Sweep Zipline Tour starts with a ground school where you are fitted with a harness and then becomes taught the basic safety procedures and techniques for riding the ziplines. Following the ground school portion the group is transported by van up the mountain to the first of seven ziplines that are 40 to 50 feet above ground. The longest of the lines is 900 feet, and riders can soar at speeds up to 30 mph as you descend nearly 300 vertical feet from start to finish. Sawyer's Sweep Zipline utilizes automatic brakes and have an excellent team of guides to ensure your safety during the experience. The ziplines are connected by a series of treetop platforms but you must also use two bridges and three rappels to travel between ziplines. Zipline riders must be at least 10 years old and weigh between 80 and 250 pounds. Riders between 10 and 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Sawyer's Sweep Zipline Tour operates year round and reservations are required – call : (802) 228-1600.
The Timber Ripper is a four-season attraction that offers a scenic and exhilarating ride through alpine forests and along the contours of the mountain at Okemo's Jackson Gore. The roller-coaster ride, sled-like cars carry two passengers but can easily be handled by one alone. Riders load and unload The Timber Ripper in the Jackson Gore base area, near the bottom of the Coleman Brook Express lift. The ride will start with a five-minute, 1,600-foot climb followed by a 375 vertical-foot descent along 3,100 feet of track that follows the contours of the mountain with added waves, camel backs, banking loops and a "twister" section, at speeds of up to 25 mph, however, the riders are in control of the speed.
Drivers must be 48" or taller to operate the sled and riders must be 36" or taller to ride. Maximum combined weight of both passengers cannot exceed 330 lbs.
Have you ever seen stuntmen jump out of buildings onto giant air pillows and wished you could do that? In the summer months, the AMP Energy Big Air bag lets you "walk the plank" by ascending a stairwell and jumping from a platform 30 feet above the ground at the Adventure Zone at Jackson Gore into the 30 by 50 foot inflated bag. Nothing matches the leap of faith experience the first time you take the plunge. In the winter this experience is done on skies!

Timber Ripper starts at $13 driver / $9 rider
Amp Energy Big Air Bag starts at $5 per jump
Sawyer's Sweep Zipline Tour $79 per person

All of our family was in Ludlow for a vacation and we all went to Okemo. Most of them rode the Timber ripper from the oldest kid in our family to our great grandson who is only 3. They also played mini-golf and Gramma and Grampa had a nice relaxing place to sit and watch them and listen to the free concert. It was a great way to spend a morning and all enjoyed it.

The things i like about Okemo is its range for most people and the restaurant coverage on the mountain. I prefer a more all around experience with food, good food situated around the mountain, intermediate to expert terrain, a mountain where kids can roam comfortably, and the ability to relax when you want.

For the total snow hounds looking for double blacks, real ones, Okemo is not the place, but for more cassual skiing, family skiing, rntals, lessons...Okemo is an ideal spot.

I see some of the other ratings, one that comments on the pricing. What I have to say about that is its a reflection of the industry more than of Okemo. There used to be a lot of family run mountains in New England, but over time they have either been absorbed and expanded or simply closed, for more info see http://www.nelsap.org/ Its actually an interesting little site with great photos for the nastalgic skiier.
