We dine and shop at the Garden Cafe every autumn, while visiting the Weston Priory in Weston, VT. There really is NO place like the Garden Cafe, a "greenhouse-art gallery-fireplace-red brick patio, cafe". The food is delicious!
Lush plants thrive in the greenhouse (in Central Vermont!). The greenhouse is the far wall of the cafe. One couple can nestle into the corner table of the greenhouse, and feel surrounded by the art and plants. The red brick floor of the cafe, giving the presence of an exterior garden, compliments the greenhouse. Opposite the greenhouse "wall" is an opening to the small and quiet bar, and the "windows" of that wall are graced by beautiful hanging stained glass. To the one end of the cafe is an open, very creatively designed "circular" fireplace, providing warmth and a glow to the cafe. Most (if not al) doorways are arched, not perpendicular doorways....well, by now, you get the idea. Elegant, creative, organic and hearty.
Across the parking area, their natural foods store brims with organic selections.
The timeless virtues of the 1970s organic movement have elegantly matured here in the Garden Cafe; as have the owners, Tom and Judy!
