“sweet little B&B, but not the best....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 4, 2007

We had been looking forward to staying here since out last trip to Killington 2 years ago. The outdoor hot tub had me obsessed and it was worth the wait. There is nothing like sitting in a hot tub in the snow! It's magical! But be aware there is a time limit on it (we would have been more than happy to stay in longer and share the tub and even our beer which was chilling in the snow, but the gentleman who asked us to get out of the tub didn't seem to be of the same frame of mind...)

The inn keepers were very friendly, sweet and helpful. The housekeeper was WONDERFUL.

We got a standard fireplace room, and i was dissapointed by the size. I expected it to be larger, i guess, becasue our room at the Cortina 2 years ago was huge in comparison. The bedding was comfy though, which is very important to me :o)

The water that filled the toilet when we flushed had a really terrible smell to it and was a rusty color. The same water came out of the faucets and that freaked me out a little bit. I'm sure it was just rust, but it was still a little off-putting.

Also, we left something in our room by mistake. When we noticed that the same night we left, my husband called back and asked them if anyone had found it. the gentleman who took the call wasn;t able to give us any information and said he would pass the message on to someone the next day and have them return our call. We're still waiting.

It IS within walking distance to a big cluster of really great restaurants (We love Charity's and The Garlic!) and they are a really nice group of people, for those reasons alone, i would give it a favorable review, however, when we go back, we'll stay at the Cortina Inn just because the rooms are so much more spacious and the bar downstairs is a really cool place to hang out.

  • Liked — the friendly staff
  • Disliked — the stinky, rusty water.

I stayed at the Snowed Inn as part of a ski and stay package. The pictures from their website are realistic- the exterior is quite nice and the deluxe rooms are as well. But is stayed in one of the standard rooms, which was rather small. The desk doubled as the TV stand, and there was barely room to move around. The staff was friendly enough. But the hotel was not very quiet, and breakfast was adequate at best. For a bed and breakfast I was expecting better.

My husband and I just returned from our wonderful stay at the Snowed Inn. We were so warmly welcomed, then ushered into our FAB room with views of the spectacular Vermont foliage and a babbling brook!

We spent the weekend in our room, in front of the fire, watching the wilderness we never see on Park Avenue. I soaked each night in our private jacuzzi tub, such a relaxing trip!

The Inn is country Vermont, right out of the magazines! Cozy, warm, very private and totally comfortable! Breakfast is delish, tea time with coffee and cookies is ADORABLE and Bailey the dog is so charming!

We are ready to book again, maybe a ski trip in Feb! Can't wait!

I stayed at the Snowed Inn last summer for a friend's wedding, which was in town. I felt right at home the second I walked through the door. The owners hosted my friend's rehearsal dinner as well and it was positively perfect. They are the sweetest innkeepers ever!

Not only was the service exceptional from start to finish, the room was lovely and I slept the best I had in months!

Every detail of the rehearsal dinner was right out of Martha Stewart Living! It was held in the back yard, and was very Vermont-esque with a country picnic theme. The Inn looked spectacular, and the hosts were just divine!

My fiance and I are planning another trip back there this winter. We are counting the days!

Off the charts phenomenol!!!

The folks who run this inn are wonderful. Unfortunately, the place is not. The walls are paper thin and it's more than likely you'll be kept awake until at least midnight and then up at six. If someone within a few rooms stirs you'll know about it. And, the hosts are too nice to ask others to pipe down late at night. So, you might do better if you took a white noise generator along with you...but, if you are a serious skier and not a partier it can be a real problem. Also watch out for the lower end rooms which are about the size of a closet...hmmm, come to think of it they don't even have a closet.

I an a group of college friends stayed here, not to party or to do any of the other things associated with typical college students, but we wanted to sleep and ski. The owners wee incredibly nice (yes, you will meet the owner---the owner works the cash register and eats breakfast among the commons) Everything was wonderful and we couldn't of asked for anything more. We woke up to the smell of breakfast every morning and then we drove 5 minutes up the road to ski. Anyone who complained about this place doesn't know how to travel. Yes when you travel if you're a big baby you need to bring your own shampoo and maybe even a toothbrush. However, there was a blowdryer in our room, hidden; hanging on the wall!

My husband and I were looking for a quiet and quaint place to stay in Vermont for a romantic weekend. I must say this was a delightful place with beautiful rooms, fireplace and paintings. The morning breakfast of fresh breads, coffee and fruit was a delicious start to the day. We concluded our sightseeing each evening by sipping wine while in the hot tub looking at stars and the flowers surrounding us on the deck. What a great romantic hideaway. I can't wait to come back and go skiing this winter!
