I stayed at the Butternut this weekend and really enjoyed it!! Everyone who works there is friendly and makes you feel like family. The morning breakfast is fantastic and the cook comes out to greet you, make sure you enjoy your meal and makes you feel welcome and appreciated! Getting to Killington Mountain takes just about 6 minutes and the views from the hotel are spectacular! The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfortable!
I will definitely stay there again!!
Neil Wood, Massachusetts

Room Tip: As for a room on the second floor facing the mountain ~

Traveled to Killington from NY for a weekend and the Butternut proved to be a great place to stay! Jim, the owner, was super friendly and gave us great recommendations on where to grab a bite to eat and drink. The breakfast (included) hit the spot as well- I'm still thinking about the strawberry and whipped cream pancakes. The rooms were very basic, but give you all you need for a ski weekend

This was my first trip to Killington, and my boyfriend and I decided to eat breakfast here on our first morning. The atmosphere was so comfortable and cozy, the waiter Phil was amazing and breakfast was delicious. We came back every morning of our trip and before we left! Next time we will be staying here too, because breakfast is included. A perfect place to start your day!

The Butternut is a nice motel and very convenient to the slopes! We stayed in a room with 2 double beds and while it was nothing fancy, it met all of our needs. The beds were comfortable and the nice added bonus was there was a refrigerator in the room. The only thing that we were not happy with was the lack of hot water for showers. After a long day of skiing and being cold, it was kind of disappointing to come back and not be able to take a hot shower. The water was luke warm at best whether you took a shower in the evening or the morning. The breakfast was great with plenty of food. The service was good and the people were friendly. Jim, the owner, was very nice, friendly and easy going. The wi-fi was sometimes good and sometimes not so good, but I think that is typical being on a mountain. I would have given this motel a 4 or 5 rating had it had hotter water and a hot tub.

This is one of the best places to stay at around Killington for someone on a budget. There are no special frills. It is just a very nice bed and breakfast. Rooms were nice and clean and had a flat screen tv. Jim is very helpful and is very accomodating. If you need anything, he will help you out as best as he can. The breakfast was amazing (and free!) and had large portions. If I go skiing again at killington, I am definitely staying here again.
Tips:
Shower make take a few min to warm up.
If you're skiing, it's best if you drive up to the slopes yourself as the inn is very close to the mountain. The "bus" shuttle may take a while to go around.
