This is our second trip to vermont and we decided to stay again at Mountain Inn. The location is close to ski mountains and they provide free transportation. The staff at hotel were all nice and helped us with everything we needed to enjoy our 3 day stay. The rooms are spacious and they have beautiful balcony which opens to magnificent view of Mt. Killington. They provide hot breakfast and have option to eat at in-local restaurant.

This was a first time skiing in Killington after years and we choose to go during the beginning of the year to get ourselves within the grove. Also, it was our first time staying at Mountain Inn and it was a great experience. We had a nice clean room with great killington view from our balcony every morning. The stay include the breakfast which was good grab before day of skiing. It was great to go to place like such to receive such a warm welcoming service. We also ate at the Steakhouse one of our nights and the dinner was also good although expensive but there are many options close to the Inn which can provide a great meal. Since it was still the beginning of the season a lot of the slopes were not yet open but there didn't seem to be any lines so it was not bad at all. Although, we seem to predict that as we get into the skiing season full swing it will be a bit more crowded. I would like to recommend all of you to have a wonderful experience that I received at Mountain Inn and surely we will be back soon!

Room Tip: Room with balcony towards the mountain

Positive: It was clean, reasonably decent shape, controllable hear, great location.

Negative:

Unfortunately that's all I can really say positive. The hotel is dated, but that's not what a ski vacation is about anyway, so I didn't care. When I opened the room though, there was a powerful cleaner smell; we learned later this was probably all over the bedding, as everyone complained of itching skin.

There were only three rooms booked in the inn that night and it felt like the inn had tried to cut costs as a result. We didn't have any hot water in the morning, despite running the tap for over 5 minutes and heard others complaining of the same at breakfast.

Breakfast was awful, only powdered cream for the coffee, orange juice was from powder and the only thing worth using, the waffle maker wasn't working. I've never seen smaller bagels. The breakfast wasn't even worth bothering with.

The place may be totally different when full, but it's a shame that the things that were terrible and ruined our experience would be easily fixed. We only stayed a single night, and would not go back, there are many better options.

This review is long overview. We stayed in mid March this year. The hotel itself is a little rustic. The location is great. We walked to the lift... it was a little far especially considering we just received 15" of fresh pow, but certainly doable. The rooms were pretty normal, not fancy and new like a big chain hotel, but not dingy either.

The continental breakfast was standard - very mediocre, but the same type of thing you'd get at a best western. The restaurant seemed nice, but we didn't eat there as it was ridiculously overpriced. The pool was a disappointment - it was heated... barely! It was uncomfortable being in there for more than 10 minutes. Plus to get to it, you have to go through the bar... kinda awkward.

Overall this place was certainly adequate for our needs, but I'm sure there are nicer hotels in the area. The main perk is obviously the location.

When arriving at the hotel you will instantly be greeted and welcome by a selection of staff. We were quickly shown our room even though we arrived at about 3 o'clock in the morning. When shown the rooms we were surprised. i think the offer of inter-connecting is available but we were surprised by the reasonably spaciousness of the room. It was very basic, but sometimes after a tiresome day on the slope this is exactly what you need. A few items for storage and basic electronics is what was given but i felt that was alright. The bathroom was really clean and was all fully functioning. However, the rooms were really close and the corridors very tight. Thank God there were no screaming children nearby or the whole corridor would be up! The breakfast served in the hotel is also basic but to a reasonable standard. The usual american cuisine is offered : waffles, juices, bagels etc. etc.
Within a few hundred yards there is a supermarket who offer pizza deliveries. There is also a ski shop that offers pretty much everything needed on a ski holiday. If you're looking for a low priced hotel for the family. This is the hotel you need!

Room Tip: I would suggest asking for a room high up in the hotel and a view of the slopes is superb.

We stayed at the Mountain Inn for three nights.
Overall, my wife and I were pleased with the hotel for several reasons:
Our room was clean and spacious for a Killington hotel. We had a room with a king size bed, small refrigerator, a TV with 8 good channels and a fireplace that kept the room quite toasty. The sink, however, was outside the bathroom on the other side of the room and the bath towels were amazingly small.

The hotel has a bar lounge with a large fireplace, reasonable prices and a friendly bartender. The Santa Fe restaurant was better than we expected. It had a salad bar with lots of choices and a menu that includes several cuts of steak, chicken and fish. My wife had a tasty sirloin steak and I had a spicy Spanish Paella. Breakfast comes with the stay and is barely adequate with cold cereal, waffles and muffins. The hotel has a classic Vermont country theme, is in good condition and amenities including a game room, sauna and small heated outdoor pool.

The big plus for the hotel is its LOCATION at the bottom of the mountain.
It’s only a 2 to 3 minute drive to the ski lodge parking lot and there are regular shuttles.

While the check-in and check out was easy and the front desk staff were friendly, the one thing that needs improvement is the LACK OF SERVICE TIED TO SECURITY. On Sat night about a half dozen couples, all in their 30’s, checked into rooms on the second floor. They began drinking, yelling, running down the hall, slamming doors and falling down in the hallway floor. We called the front desk and left messages with no reply. The night manager had gone to bed. I found him, insisted he take action and get things calmed down. By 2PM it was finally quiet.

Although the location is great I do believe that there are better options with a similar location. We booked a room with a fireplace for two nights through Expedia.
We called the hotel for information and they told us they had no information for our booking and that unfortunately there were no rooms available. After calling Expedia, we were told to call back next day. We were given a room with a balcony, I still dont know if this was an upgrade.
Once we got there, the room was okay and clean, bathroom was okay, location was perfect and the views from our balcony were nice. During the first night we went to the restaurant in the hotel, the food was okay however i believe there are better dining options for similar pricing such as the Wobbly Barn, the hotel provides a shuttle service to the Wobbly Barn and other restaurants. Our first night there seemed to be a frat party going on in the hotel with boys running around drunk and screaming.

The complimentary breakfast is okay since its complimentary, they have orange juice, coffee, muffins, small bagels, cereal and waffles. On our second night to our surprise the manager woke us up at midnight with loud banging on the door and then accused us of smoking in the room and threatened us with charging $200 for no particular reason. After explaining that we had been sleeping for 2 hours already he claimed that smoke was coming out from our room and he insisted on checking out the room.

So even though we had a great time skiing, the hotel wasnt what we expected for $250 a night, lots of better options in Killington
