“Highly Recommend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2009

We stayed here from 1/1/09 to 1/5/09. It is located on Highway 4 about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the access road leading to Killington. We rented a car so we did not use the bus system. Drove from Boston. It is not a bad trip and easy to follow mapquest directions to get there.

As for the property, the rooms look older, but the beds were comfortable and the room had everything we needed. A mini-fridge is in the room and the lobby has a microwave and coffee machine for use during the day.

The owners are wonderful and we cannot say enough good things about them. From the breakfast in the morning, including freshly made pancakes, to chatting with us about dinner recommendations after a day of skiing, they were always there to help us.

As for the skiing, the snow this past Saturday gave us great conditions on Saturday and most of Sunday, although some parts got icey by the end of Sunday.

We ate at Lookout and liked it. Even though a bar setting, a lot more options for food and the black and tan soup was very good. We did take-out from Outback Pizza and delivery from Sushi Yoshi. We got sushi rolls from Sushi Yoshi and the Outback Pizza. We were dead on Saturday and the delivery from Sushi Yoshi was just what we needed so we did not have to travel. We ended up going to Sushi Yoshi on Sunday for hibachi. It is comparable to other Hibachi restaurants and we enjoyed chatting with the people sitting at our table.

  • Liked — Owners and the price for the season
  • Disliked — Ski in/ski out for the same price and accomodations would be too good to be true

Lovely place - great view. You can't feel the highway at all. We stayed in rooms 20-21 which are huge. Everything was clean and comfortable.
Loved it - would come back !

What a lovely experience. We were treated like old friends instead of just paying customers.
Our room was well tended with a little garden outside the door. Breakfast with incredible fresh roasted coffee greeted us in the morning.
The owners are more than hospitable and very accessible.
Be sure to check it out.

I couldn't agree more with the review of Kurzmom from July 13th. My husband, Russ, and I were also in Killington (August 2nd ) for a wedding. The rates, in season or out, are reasonable for the area. Our accomodations were clean and roomy with the basic needs. Our queen size bed was comfortable, which is always a big marker for how much we enjoy our stay. What makes this establishment outstanding are the innkeepers, Steve and his wife. This is a motel in looks, but a great bed and breakfast in feel if you take advantage of chatting with the owners and partaking in their breakfast. Steve bills his complimentary breakfast as "continental." It is far more than that, and as stated by Kurz mom, you must try his made-to-order pancakes. They are the best we have ever had! These two inkeepers must have charmed the people in the many locations they have worked before purchasing this motel; it is those locations' loss and Killington's gain. We no longer ski, but we are toying with a winter ski weekend in VT, and we will choose to stay at this motel. If you are looking for a glitzy splashy resort, this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for comfort and charming hosts, make reservations for their peak season now.

  • Liked — The inkeepers bend over backwards and are charming.
  • Disliked — The age of the motel. It is a bit warn, but they are working on improving that.

My family and I recently returned from a weekend in Killington. We were in town for a wedding, and while my family was staying at another establishment (site of the wedding), my husband and I decided on the Sherbune-Killington based on the reviews here as well as their location to our event (the motel was a mere 5 minutes from the wedding). Again, tripadvisor did not disapoint! First off their rates are incredible. We were off season (summer for Killington) but even then, the rates were extremely reasonable. Our hosts, Steve and Robin were wonderful. Each morning Steve prepared a wonderful Vermont breakfast with everything and anything one could ask for including pancakes made to order! Steve was very warm and welcoming to our family - which includes a rowdy 4 & 1/2 year old boy! Both Steve and Robin were extremely accomodating to our needs - from providing directions to dinner recommendations to attraction hours to even providing us with a fuch needed forgotten item (which we would have otherwise had to drive to get after a long day of traveling). Our hosts were everything they should be!
The room was spacious and clean. We stayed in the units behind the main row which provided us with a beautiful panaroma of the mountains. We even had a small refrigerator in our room - which always comes in handy when you have kids since they are always in need of something at all hours! Our maid service was prompt and efficient - the room was always clean - which is more than I can say for my father's room at the Killington Resort. My family stayed at the Resort for about 3x as much as we paid, and by 5:00 pm they did not have their room cleaned!
The Sherburne-Killington also has a wonderful pool, a gazebo with beautiful wooden chairs overlooking the mountain, and a wonderful little playground on site! My son so enjoyed playing there, and it was so wonderful to have something like that on site!!!
Overall, I would definitly recommed this motel to travelers. It is a wonderful little slice of heaven in what truly is gods country. It is real Vermont, not a chain clone motel or an impersonal overpriced resort. Here you get the best of all Vermont has to offer: beautiful views, awesome food, and great people.

We stayed here based on the reviews we read on Trip Advisor and everything we read was spot on. The rooms were dated (but the whole resort seems a bit dated in my opinion) but clean, simple, and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast of homemade pancakes, granola, and egg sandwiches were awesome! The room fees were fair. The hotel is located minutes from the resort. I would easily stay here again. Cheers!

This is a small privately owned motel of 20 rooms run by Robin and Steve. We booked the motel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and for the price, accomodation and location we were pleased.

We stayed for 5 nights in March 2008 and recieved a warm reception from Steve and Robin who were always on hand to answer any questions or provide recommendations.

The rooms are basic but are well equipped and fulfilled our needs. The breakfasts were home made cakes, cereals, fruit or made to order pancakes and egg muffins - these were great and the perfect start for a day skiing at Killington.

Wi Fi and internet access are also available. If you are looking for a good all round basic but friendly accomodation within easy access of the Killington slopes you cant go wrong!
