We visited Slopeside earlier in the ski season and it was good. We had their homemade pizza and some wings and it was all very nice and tasty. We got snowed in at our condo last night and ate here again. It is true that the staff and owners are wonderful but the food is really great as well. I think between four of us, we tried 75% of the menu and it was all super delicious. All of the food is homemade and much of it is from the owners family recipe file. The wings, gravy fries, chowder, calamari and shrimp (my favorite) were super delicious...and yes, even the ahi tuna salad was yummy! It might seem out of place on a menu in VT but everyone in the area has it on their menu. It's nicely presented here and is delicious. They have enough menu items to please everyone. The chicken cheese steak and the red sauce was good as well. Honestly, we tried almost everything - we even had chocolate lava cake and pecan pie that was out of this world, so I don't think you can go wrong by checking out Slopeside. They do $1 and $2 tacos on Tuesdays and Thursdays where you can make your own, which is nice if you happen to be around mid week. On the weekend they offer free happy hour pizza and it's not Elios! It's YUMMY! Oh, they whip up a mean margarita too! Definitely quality food in a funky atmosphere. A great view of the mountain as you eat too!

We ordered takeout and relied upon the online menu. When I went to pick up the order, the prices on the receipt were $3 more each for the appetizer and main course we ordered than what was on the menu on their own website. Well, I hope they're happy they made an extra $6 off me - they've lost my business next time I'm in Killington. (Too bad: the food was actually good and as convenient as can be as we were staying at Mountain Green where the restaurant is located.)

In the interest of keeping this succinct: the restaurant was freezing and too dark, a piece of the glass tabletop had broken off exposing a jagged edge, they delivered random herbal teas instead of black teas (not even the same herbal tea each time), the menu bore no resemblance to what was posted on their website, and it took a long time to get our food. I say "almost every respect" because the food was okay and the waitstaff were nice and helpful. But I would definitely not return, and i'm somewhat perplexed by the previous great reviews. Perhaps the restaurant's circumstances have recently changed?

After reading the other reviews we chose Slopeside for dinner last night. Unfortunately it wasn't all that good. Billed as a fun, casual spot to relax with family ( especially teens) we found it cold, loud and the food avg to just so-so. Our appetizer (wings) showed up 10 mins after our main course despite the waiter repeatedly telling us they were almost ready. The Caesar salads were ok (chicken boring, barely grilled), hamburger was pretty good. Sorry guys, the yellow stucco walls, bright lights and limp lettuce left us as cold as he snow outside. Owners were nice, friendly but for $80 our dinner was a disappointment.

John and his friendly staff have done a great job with their 2nd season at Mountain Green. We look forward to visiting again...and again
