“Conveniently Located Lodge With Awesome Heated Outdoor Pool”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2012

We have stayed here the past couple of years and have enjoyed it.

The Killington Grand Resort is located about a 5 minute walk from nearby ski lifts. It is not really ski in, ski out, but is pretty close. There is a ski check to leave your skis located right by the back door that leads to the ski lifts. So, you just head to the back door, pick up your skis and walk a few minutes and you're all set to hit the slopes.

The lodge itself is pretty basic, as are the rooms. Nothing to fancy, but comfortable. It seems that the place is designed to be more durable than aesthetically pleasing.

The buffet breakfast has lots of choices, and is a great place to fill up before a day of skiing. Breakfast is served in a big conference room, and not a restaurant. Again, not fancy, but serves its purpose. The restaurant for dinner was not that good. After trying it during our first visit at this lodge, we have not returned during subsequent visits. There are plenty of dining options a short drive away.

The best part about the entire resort is the outdoor heated pool and hot tubs. After a day of skiing, being able to swim outside in a heated pool, even when air temps are freezing, is amazing.

This place is pricey, but with the pool, the location to the slopes, and the big tasty breakfast this place is worth it.

We look forward to returning in a few months.

This was our second time here. We rented a two-room unit with another couple. Our unit had a small kitchen which was great for preparing breakfast and lunch. The view of the mountain from our balcony was spectacular (see photo). The property couldn't have looked nicer (they recently renovated all rooms). The staff was very friendly and helpful in suggesting activities and restaurants. This place is quickly becoming one of our favorites!

Room Tip: Definitely request a slope-side room number in the low 100's, 200's or 300's so your mou...

We have been going here for 10 years now, about 4 hour ride from NY. The resort is well kept. They do a good job in making snow and keeping the mountain nice. Well run on the mountain with great views from the top. This is a ski on ski off hotel, which is very nice. Resort has a outdoor/indoor pool, outdoor fire pit and jacuzzie. There is a good restaurant, gym and spa onsite.Game room, ping pong tables and laundry room.Rooms and beds are clean and comfortable. Some rooms have kitchens, which helps save. Free wifi, bring a book, wine and just relax by one of their fireplaces! Ski tickets are a little high. Staff is just OK. Some good but pricely restaurants on the road. Choices is my favorite, Woobly is OK but has good nightlife. Enjoy

Room Tip: You pay more for mountain site view.

We are frequent visitors here and had to check in and say the upgrades are a nice touch. Better mattresses, new granite counter tops, new appliances, fresh paint and carpets, upgraded bathrooms w/ tile shower.

Thanks for the improvements, looking forward to SNOW!!!

We spent Columbus Day weekend at Killington Grand. We are skiers, so enjoy staying at ski lodges even in off season. The gondola to the peak gave us views that were thoroughly beautiful. King bed room was comfortable and accommodating. Some fellow diners at the restaurant were not so satisfied, but we were. Even the gift shop/coffee deli served small meals well.

Room Tip: You might ask for a hillside view -- we had parking lot which wasn't great.

I am posting my review a bit late as we stayed at the resort in March 2012. It was our first time in Killington , we used to go to Lake Placid before. I think it is a perfect place for really relaxing skiing. Your skis are stored conveniently and it is only a few minutes walk to the lift. So easy. Rooms are comfortable , nice breakfast in a morning. My kid's favourite place at the hotel was an outdoor pool. So relaxing. Overall , we loved the resort and already booked our next winter vacation there next March.

Traveled to Vermont the weekend of September 21. A group of 4 of us stayed at the Grand for a Spartan Race and upon arrival the place exceeded our expectations. I found the hotel on the Spartan website and chose it based on reviews I read here. It was nice to get a discount for running the race. The hotel was located directly at the bottom of the mountain where we needed to be in the morning and was less than a 5 minute walk. I am assuming if you are a skiier, this would be a definite positive. Check in was very smooth and probably one of the fastest check ins I have ever experienced. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and explained everything we needed to know about the resort. Our room was quite large with 2 queen beds that were pretty comfy. The bathroom was a decent size and I loved how there was an extra sink outside of the bathroom. I was truly impressed with the overall cleanliness of the room and the hotel as a whole. I was also surprised and excited to have a little deck that overlooked the gorgeous mountains where I was able to sip my coffee in the morning. The one and only thing I did notice was the walls are extremely thin. I could hear the next rooms conversation loud and clear one night even with the tv on. The pool area looked very nice and there was a fire pit outside on the patio as well. The hotel overall had a real homey feel to it. We ate all of our meals at the onsite restaurant and I have to say we were not disappointed in the least! The food was great, but the service was even better! After our race Saturday, our waitress was very on top of refilling our water glasses and tending to our needs as we were exhausted. We are planning on running this race in Killington again next year and I know for a fact that I will definitely be booking a room at the Grand. It was a wonderful experience!!
