“Great pool, Great view, Great resort”
Reviewed August 4, 2011

It was our second time at Killington. The hotel is much improved over last year. Very clean, quiet because of the season. They have Starbucks in the lobby and a great restaurant. The pool is beautiful and so are the views. The only complaint we have is the bed in the main bedroom is too soft and a little small. We go for the mountain biking which is 1 minute up the road. There are lots of great trails. Our family loves it and will more then likely go back again next year, we may even try a winter ski trip there.

I am glad you made a return trip back to the Killington Grand Resort Hotel and noticed some of our changes. Much of these improvements are generated from our guest comments, so your information about the bedding is quite helpful. Thank you for sharing the photo and I hope you and your family can make it up this winter so you can see all those trails covered in snow.

My wife, three boys and myself Stayed at the Killington Grand for a week in July. This is their off season but I was still surprised at how quiet the hotel was. They have a beautiful heated outdoor pool that was virtually empty every day which was perfect for us. The grounds and the pool were immaculate. the hotel itself is nice but I would rate it as average. We had a one bedroom unit with a kitchenette. It was two adjoining hotel rooms, in one room there was two queen size beds with a small balcony, the other room had a murphy bed and a pullout couch with a small kitchenette. Even with two rooms, space was limited for a family of five. The queen beds were very comfortable with high quality bedding but the Murphy bed and pullout couch were extrememly uncomfortable. The sevice was good, however there were some missed opportunities that would have made it extraordinary. One such example, they have a gas firepit out by the pool. One evening my family went out to sit by the firepit and it was off. We approached the front desk and asked them to turn it on and their reponse was (in a put offish tone) "well how long are you going to be out there because we don't want to turn it on for just 15 minutes". They eventually did turn it on but you shouldn't have to puch back to get something like that done. For the most part though each time we saw a staff memeber were were greeted enthusiastically and they were a great help. The Pico adventure center is great for kids. They have an alpine slide, minature golf, trampolines, climbing wall and disc golf. If you have kids that like to swim, mountain bike, hike or do any other outdoor mountain activities then this would be a nice quiet summer getaway. The downside is if it rains then you are screwed. There is no indoor pool and very little to do if the weather is bad. There were no resort activities for children or adults but we knew this ahead of time so it wasn't a proble, We basically spent our days either at the pool or a lake or river that was close by. Also, many of the area restaurants were also closed because it is their off season. All in all it was an enjoyable family vacation. I rated this resort as average but I expect a lot when I travel and to be above average the place has to be exceptional. I would have liked the rooms to be a little larger (we got it as a timeshare so hotel rooms don't cut it) and to have some activities during the day or evening. I would imagine this would be an exceptional resort in the winter though.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and had fun at the Pico Adventure Center with your family. We appreciate that you also took the time to provide feedback about your vacation and we will surely utilize your comments when developing our activities at the hotel, or communicating “rainy day” activities in the area. As you noticed our staff is enthusiastic about providing great service, however it is unfortunate that it did not happen 100% of your time here. We have shared your comments with the staff and will be sure to monitor this closer. Hopefully, you will have the opportunity to visit us in the future and be able to enjoy some of our winter activities as well.

We decided to go on a golf vacation for a few days, and have lots of choices to stay. We chose here, and it was a great stay. While there were weddings and other chicanery going on during the weekend, the room was quiet at night, and the resort handled all well. Valet people Dave and anthony were great, as were the front desk including Mona, clinton, and others. Ron in the occasions bar was so helpful, and their food was surprising good for a hotel menu. My BBackRibs were reasonably priced and were tender and loaded with meat. Their 5 onion soup was also very good. The golf package was very reasonable, and we enjoyed the staff there including bartender Matt. Bring lots of golf balls because you will need them! By the way, the rooms with the bed in the wall were very nice, but we upgraded to get softer beds, as the murphy beds were very hard.

we spent one night down the street at another hotel, and just had to leave. We decided to check out other places. As soon as we walked through the door and greeted by the bellboy Dave we new this was better. Then we walked to the front desk where the receptionist was very friendly and helpful and told us to have a look around. One quick tour and we said this is where we want to be. We highly recommend This hotel to all. We will be back with our family and friends. :)

I was here for the second time for a work conference. The staff are very friendly and the resort itself is nice and well maintained. Being the low season, not much is open around the area and it's in the middle of nowhere. For the price it was quite nice. I'm not sure of the ski season pricing but I'm sure it is much higher. The rooms themselves were not much better than what you would find at a newer Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn - but that seems to be pretty typical for ski lodging in VT. For convenience to the mountain I don't think you could get any closer.

The Grand is amazing! The only reason I did not rate is as Excellent is because the rooms are good, not amazing. We had a room with a kitchenette which we loved since we came in off the mountain to eat lunch everyday and cooked our dinners in our room. We had a Murphy bed which saved space in the room but isn't super comfortable.

The location is perfect for skiing, you are right by a ski lift and there is a free ski valet service so you don't have to haul your skis anywhere.

The pool is awesome. It is outdoor and very warm. There are 2 hot tubs which were really great, nice and hot. There was also a steam room and sauna inside.

Breakfast was included and was really good, eggs, potatoes, cereal and pastry type of stuff buffet style.

We did a ski package and stayed during the week so it was a bit cheaper than staying there on a weekend or during peak ski season. The ski conditions were still perfect the last week of March though.

There was a lovely fire place on the ground floor, first floor and outside to lounge by. There was also wi-fi throughout the hotel.

The hotel is nice but not exceptionally beautiful inside or out. It is clean though and has great amenities such as the pools and fire places.

The people were nice and we enjoyed our stay very much!

We would go back!
