“Not the most "Ski-able" mountain, but large and diverse”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

Killington is largest in the east - as evidenced by the crowds, out-of-control snowboarders, and difficulty in getting from one peak to the next.

They could also invest in additional lift upgrades - eliminate old, slow lifts.

The terrain is diverse, from Ramshead where the kids and beg/int can have fun (including some glades), to K-1 that leads to a lot of challenging steep.

The lodges are outdated and lack capacity for the crowds. The food is average, at best.

“One of the best the East Coast has to offer!”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

Killington is great overall! Sometimes people in your group can make a wrong turn and end up at a different base, bring a trail map!

“Great first time!”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

This was a first time at Killington and we had a great time. Everyone in our group of three families - from novice to expert skiiers including adults, young kids and teenagers - enjoyed the experience. We skiied in everything during the week: spring and sunny conditions, crud, snowstorm, freezing wind, powder and groomed trails.

The greatest thing about the hill when you are skiing with younger children is that there is always an easy route down, which is well marked. The "hill" itself is 5 peaks and is quite large. There is alot of variety from groomed runs, to powder to glades at all levels. It would have been great if there was a little more signage at the trail intersections, but for the most part it was easy to get around. The groomed trails were excellent and we all enjoyed the small-medium terrain parks and some easier glade runs. The kids really enjoyed their lessons and not only did they have fun, but they improved in a short time too!

The hill during March Break for Ontario wasn't too busy - mostly Canadians. The service during the week is somewhat limited during this time - the base at Ramshead and Skyship for instance didn't serve any food Mon-Thurs. There was however, lots of room to store your bags and it was easy to pack a lunch. A nice touch that there were plastic cups and water available to drink.

We would definitely return!

“Killington Tubing Park is a waste of money”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

Killington Tubing Park recently had a 2 for 1 LivingSocial deal. I took my girlfriend who lives an hour away. The staff did tell us conditions weren't ideal, but upon going down for our first run neither one of us were able to make it 1/4 of the way down the hill. There were boot marks presumably from other tubers who couldn't make it down either. We left after one run and a refund/voucher was refused since they mentioned the conditions beforehand.
We were also told by the woman behind the desk that there were snowshoe trails, but it turned out to be about 100 feet of groomed trail and then an open field with a foot of snow.
Needless to say, for the price of $17 per adult, don't waste your money. Maybe kids 8 or younger might enjoy if the conditions are ideal, but at $15 it's still expensive for what you get.

“Killington, last choice in the East”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

Been here 2x, a work trip & family. We've skied many places & are amazed people come here when there are so many alternatives. The staff is the worst we've seen after 32 years of skiing, unhelpful & uninformed, & in the lodging office actually rude, so rare at a ski resort. Unfortunately, the important part, the mountain, is worse. Chopped into 5 mediocre areas that are poorly marked & connected. The connecting terrain is generally ungroomed bumps, too challenging for many skiers, making movement around the mountain difficult.Trail marking is inconsistent, we felt bad for beginners who decided to try a blue & were stuck in an ungroomed mogul field. If you're a first timer don't come here, skiing is better than this, try Sugarbush, Stowe, Okemo, Stratton, or Jay Peak all in VT & much better.
