“Mediocre food at exorbitant prices”
Reviewed July 26, 2012 via mobile

We came here during a visit to smugglers notch because it was in walking distance to our room. Next time we will definitely get in the car and drive elsewhere.
While the menu sounded good, the execution was not. Caesar salad was grilled which sounded interesting but when it arrived it was burned on one side and completely flavorless. The wedge salad had chunks of bacon that were too chewy and the blue cheese tasted like bottled dressing. Kids meals no better than the deli next door and were really small portions. For an average of $25-30 per entree, I would have expected better.

“Mixed quality”
Reviewed March 10, 2012

Dinner with my spouse last week ranged from excellent (seafood chowder...after it was sent back to be heated properly) to fair (pork confit appetizer...2/3 fried fat) to good (salmon was average and properly cooked) to poor (only regular coffee!). We also agree with the previous risotto comment in that it was way too heavy.
Service was pleasant and generally helpful
Prices are not inexpensive, but far from outrageous as some have claimed

“Disappointed...”
Reviewed March 8, 2012

Lovely descriptions on the specials, I really liked the sound of the trout and the risotto. I love risottos! Unfortunately, it tasted like cheese and was very pasty and dry. I was expecting better for the prices... The food was not memorable. We decided it would be our special meal on the week vacation at Smuggs, but the food was average and expensive.

Do not order risotto in this place, they don't know what it is!

“Incredible dining experience”
Reviewed February 22, 2012

Innovative menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and creative flair results in remarkable dining experience. Choices include rib-eye steak ans eggs with fingerling bacon hash, bison steak, fettucini with wild mushrooms, filet mignon and duck confit.

Accomodations are made for diners with children in a seperate dining room, leaving adults with a more quiet environment.

Desert aperatifs are served in creatively shaped flutes.

Service is delivered by charming, friendly and helpful staff.

The wine list represents an opportunity to improve, however. Although good wines are available, the Zinfandel tasted a bit 'manufactured.'

Excellent overall
