The food was good. It was a buffet they could have kept up a little better. We were expecting it to be a little more diverse. The staff seemed overwelmed.

First we were seated with all the families with small children, ours are teenagers, rest of restaurant was empty. Host also asked if our kids wanted crayons, really? Then only left us with 2 menus & 2 children menus after she already asked if we wanted kids menus and we politely said no. Now as far as the food, we ordered two wedge salads and one spinach salad. All the salads were lacking flavor and barely had any dressing on them. Menu wasn't very appealing so we just went with the burgers. Waitress asked how we wanted them prepared so we said one well , one medium and one medium rare. Well it didn't matter how you ordered it because they were all burnt & flavorless and looked like a patty you get at a fast food establishment. Dinner cost over $100 and for that money we would have preferred fast food. The only thing that was good were the French fries.

If you're looking for fine dining this is not the place, as with many activity places what the customers seem to want is wholesome tasty food in a pleasant atmosphere , reasonably priced with a fast efficient service. That's what you get.

The menu is generally ok, and I must say the quality of food is surprising but the service just does not work!!! We were there last week-end, the place was not packed and the server could not answer basic menu questions service was so slow... Brought us bread after the appetizers and brought our entrées 5 minutes before the kids got theirs... By the time they had half their meal 2 of them were sleeping on the table.

Anyways, love jay Peak and will make sure I get food ahead next time as most rooms have a kitchen so I can cook in my room.

I was thinking that this restaurant would serve typical resort food, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very fresh and made with local ingredients. We had some sort of a cheese dip appetizer that was delicious. I also had a pasta special one evening which was amazingly good. Their pizzas are also very tasty. They have a great kids menu which is an added bonus. This was the best food we had at Jay Peak!
