Always a pleasure to come up here for Mass and a moment of reflection. Fr. Boucher's good work continues is the revamped visitors center.

I liked seeing a religious spot I had heard about and reading its history. The view is lovely and the architecture is unique. There are outdoor masses held there.

An interesting stop in the islands is this site which is both the original landing site of Samuel Champlain as he first landed in what became the U.S. and the lake he named after himself and a religious shrine with chapel and outdoor religious services. There is also an interesting small museum on the site with info on the area including explorations, conflict, and a visit by John Phillip Sousa, perhaps to finish composing "Stars and Stripes Forever." It's a very nice setting on the shore of Lake Champlain. Afterward, we had a nice outdoor lunch at a nearby golf club.

It was very relaxing and quiet. There was plenty of room to walk around and enjoy the grounds.

Attended mass and loved the setting and the whole feeling of holiness.
It was rustic and simple and conducive to reflection.
