Some might consider the diner to be in the boondocks, but it is worth the trip given the quality of the food. This is strictly a breakfast/lunch place with a simple menu. Most things are local and the management shares who provides what.
We were there for breakfast and the turquoise and white diner booth motif wasn't cheerful, clean and not overdone. The counter offers a lot of seating for singles and pairs. Breakfast was to our liking, down to the gluten free toast option. Even the tea was good enough for me to look at the tag.
My friend said the granola was superb, though I am not a granola fan, and not really sure how that is possible. The waitstaff was attentive but not pesky. It is a little pricey; but seems worth it for the quality.

This is what Hartland (and Woodstock and Quechee, etc.) has needed! A new diner that has taken over the space of Stella's (and helped filled the gap with the closing of Wasp's Diner in Woodstock). FANTASTIC breakfast (haven't tried lunch yet but menu looks great!). Wraps, omelets, fabulous potatoes and great coffee! The staff is wonderful and the place bright and cheerful. If you're like me, and crave a good breakfast that's close to an interstate (and NOT McDonalds, Denny's, Burger King, etc.) this is also for you! If you passing through on I-91, take Exit 9 and go north on Rts. 12 & 5 for a mile or so. When you come to the junction where Rt. 5 veers to the right, there is a small shopping center to your left and the HD is right in there. As they ay: EZ off EZ on! Open 7 days 7-2!

We had lunch today - homemade vegetable beef soupe and a turkey club sandwich - which was large enough to split - both were great. Our second visit sinse the Diner opened and both visits recived our top marks for service, food and prices. Do not miss this place!
