“Yummy”
Reviewed August 18, 2014

Dandelion, eggplant, mozzarella omelet, YUM!!!!! The menu here has lots to choose, something for everyone. I liked the new, different flavors. The awesome twist on the eggs benedict, the salmon breakfast sandwich oh and lets not forget the awesome coffee that they serve. Great food, great service, really nice place.

“Very bland food, staff too busy to care”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

I expected a lot more of a culinary institute restaurant.

I ate at the bar last night and was very disappointed. The salad dressing was tasteless and it was supposed to have a bunch of corn and beans on it and there were about 14 individual kernels. I saw about two pieces of avocado and it was supposed to be an avocado, corn, and black bean salad.

The dip I ordered was near flavorless, especially since it was supposed to contain onions and jalapenos, and tasted like it was mostly cream cheese (and the menu said it was sour cream). It also wasn't mixed very well with big hunks of white.

The bartenders were so busy that they had no time to check on anything.

Dear vermonterk,

It is quite distressing to hear of your recent experience dining in the Tavern. Your profile lists a varied and thorough number of restaurants and venues including our Spa and Amuse (our signature restaurant prior to the re-design to Junction in 2014) clearly you know your food and what is and what is not good service. We missed the mark and the opportunity to impress you and that is simply not acceptable for us either. Your observations have been discussed with the culinary team. We can and must do better and I would hope you may come back and give us another chance to meet if not exceed your expectations.

“Awesome Find”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

Can't say enough good things about The Tavern. The fresh, local food is fantastic. The atmosphere is casual, yet sophisticated. Finally, the staff is knowledgable about the menu and always very pleasant.
The wings and local beef burgers are a must!

Dear Bella802,

Thank you so much for stopping in and enjoying the Tavern. Beef is local, hand formed and served on rolls from our on-site bakery and how about those wings.....we just love them too. In fact, we have quite a rivalry going. The Chef likes the Maple and our General Manager prefers the traditional.

“Great brunches”
Reviewed July 27, 2014

The brunches here are great. I loved their French toast and pancakes. They also have a nice patio for outdoor seating. I also enjoyed the nachos and beer in the evening. One caveat: Service is slow. Even when it's not crowded. They seem to have plenty of people working there but they disappear for while. I'm not sure what they're doing. Maybe just Vernont laid back.

Dear Bob B,

Thank you so much for staying with us, enjoying the food and for writing this review. Your comment regarding the pace of service is of concern and has been shared with the restaurant leadership team. We love when guests enjoy the food and service but even a critique is a great tool used to improve. Thank you for your observations.
