My girlfriend and I found this great dogsledding tour about 45 minutes north of Stowe. The drive was well worth it since snow conditions tend to be better. The cabin where we see the dogs was just awesome, bunch of alaskan huskies and mixed breed huskies sere ready to great us, all of the super friendly and lounging on sofas before being called out for duty. The staff was superb very knowledgeable, even a younger boy was very nice and helped us with harnessing the dogs and even knew a bunch regarding dogsledding. The owner is kind and sincere, very enthusiastic about his job and treats his 32 dogs very well. We did the Beta tour it allowed us the opportunity to ride together in a sled with the owner mushing. He provided us with warm blankets for the 45 minute ride. We then had the opportunity to feed the dogs and give them treats. Be sure to look for the cool and creative souvenirs to never forget the wonderful experience.

This was our favorite part of our trip! One of the best experiences of my life. We were allowed to harness the dogs and get them ready for the ride, and once we were on it it was sooo much fun!! A thrilling adventure through the woods. This is a MUST DO if you are in vermont and love adventure!! The staff was so sweet and welcoming, Chris is the best!

On my bucket list. Our friends have raved about this, as they have done it twice during the summer on wheels. We held out to experience it on the sled instead of the wheels and we were not disappointed! We did the "Omega" tour- basically the 30 minute ride. But, before hand you can pet and meet and spend a little time with the dogs. They have a total of 33 well cared for dogs here and about 9 of them pulled our sled. The staff was wonderful and the dogs were so sweet. We were taken by how much they liked people and how calm they were when resting in their "home" with their pack. Once the staff harnessed them up, they began to howl- we felt like we were back in Alaska! Kind of surreal. The scenery and the property were both beautiful. Our musher was very good. The dogs can really go fast! My husband lost his camera on the excursion and the staff was kind enough to go back by foot and snowmobile to search for and retrieve it. They were very hospitable, offering coffee and hot chocolate. Afterwards, we gave the dogs treats. make sure you have a good all wheel drive vehicle in the winter to get up the steep, snowy roads in winter. This area is wilderness. As for the comment one poster made about the dogs not being Siberian Huskies- that is true. But anyone who knows anything about sled dogs knows that most sled dogs are mixes- not pure bred Siberians (or Malamutes -to pull heavy loads- not race). We visited Jeff Kings' place up in Alaska one year (Iditarod Race Champ) and all his dogs were basically mixed breed Alaskan Huskies. They are "skinny", meaning in excellent shape and light and fast, like sprint racers. Highly recommend!

My wife, her parents, and I went here in the middle of a huge Nor'easter this winter. My SUV can't handle snowy hills, and unfortunately Eden Dogsledding is located at the end of a hilly and remote backroad. Thankfully, Jim and one of the staff members were nice enough to pick us all up and drop us off at the convenience store located on the main road! The staff and most importantly, the dogs at Eden were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The sled tour took us through some lovely back woods with not a human settlement in sight. It sure was expensive, but it feels great to this one off of the bucket list. One thing to note was that we went during peak season, and it took a while to get going, and for them to find time to drive us back. Purchased the 2-hour Alpha tour, but were there for around 4 hours. Set aside some extra time for this one. Highly recommended.

Me and my girlfriend came a long way to experience an "alpha" dog sledding tour at sunset. The weather conditions were bad - a snowstorm was in full power on the day we reserved for sledding. Instead of a romantic sunset voyage, we ran in a gloomy snowstorm at dusk. Despite of that, Jim (the owner) charged us full price, $420, for this pleasure. Furthermore, the dogs were NOT real sledding dogs (Siberian huskies), but rather a pack of various small animals which he called "Alaskan husky" - a mix of different colors and kinds.
Taken together, 1 hr sledding on street dogs in a snowstorm is not worth $420.
I would NOT recommend it to any of my friends.
