We spent 2 nights at the Squire House feeling like royalty! Gay and Roger Squire have created a haven of warmth, comfort and elegance. Their attention to every detail is phenomenal. The bedrooms are comfortable, beautifully furnished and each has its own lovely bathroom. There are 3 beautiful sitting rooms each with its own character. They are all furnished with very comfortable stylish furniture and the color schemes are lovely. The fireplaces are magnificent. The breakfasts were sumptuous and so delicious and the coffee was superb! We look forward to our next visit. This is definitely the best bed and breakfast that we have ever had the pleasure to visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Squire House. Its majestic presense on a stately property provided a very special welcome as we entered the driveway. Beautiful architecture and charming rooms, impeccably kept with antiques were equally impressive and comforting. Breakfast was just exquisite. Everything was perfect. These pleasures were only exceeded by the warm, friendly personable care provided. Gay and Roger made us feel that we had reaqainted with dear old friends.

I just can't say enough about the Squire's kindness, warmth, and attention. They are just amazingly nice, wonderful people. I truly appreciate how rare that is in travel to be taken care of in that way, and they do it perfectly. Thank you for all you do!

Not just because of the wonderful rooms, the beds which warm your feet, the wonderful building with its green grounds, the sinfully rich breakfasts, but also and maybe mainly, thanks to the owners, the wonderful Roger and Gay, and if you should happen to be in southern Vermont, Dorset and the Squire House is the place, it is also worth heeding Roger's advice on where to walk in the area and "according to what he says, if you heed his advice you, too, will have a long life".

My wife and I had owned a home in Dorset for 5 years and decided to visit our former neighbors last Fall. When I asked them where to stay they immediately said ---The Squire House.

We took their advice and had a fantastic time.

We went October 2007 and again this October. This year two of our close friends joined us.

The Inn was perfect in every way - beautiful, clean, wonderful guest rooms and great sitting rooms on the first floor. And the grounds are gorgeous. Roger and Gay Squire, the Innkeepers, couldn't have been more accomodating. Their daily breakfasts were out of this world.

Our friends loved it. Since there were six of us, we had the whole Inn to oursleves. Roger and Gay made it one of the best vacations we've ever had. Our friends can't stop thanking us for taking them with us.

We can't wait to go back agaiin next year!

Beautifully appoinited B&B with outstanding breakfasts and personable hosts. We were guests for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is close to many attractions and now in the center of beautiful leaf colors!
We live in Virginia and have stayed in many B&Bs in our travels and found the Squire House to be our best experience.
We will return soon.

Wonderfully secluded--yet not far from the cute village of Dorset. Squires House is a bed & breakfast in the finest tradition of Vermont hospitality.
Filled with period antiques amid a few classy reproductions, hosts Roger and Gay Squires start the day off with a full course breakfast; one day pancakes with maple syrup, next day a vegetable-egg fritatta, and always with fresh fruit, juices (and their home-made granola blend.

Our room was with a queen 4-post bed, and it was very large. Somewhat atypical for Vermont, the Inn had air conditioning, which came in handy for the brief hot spell during our August stay.

It's elegant and fairly formal, but there's a relaxed air that made our stay with family and friends just right. And as long time locals, Roger and Gay are filled with recommendations as to where to go shopping in nearby Manchester (12-15 minutes away), or for dining options.

Squires House is a great base from which to explore, and if you're just content to laze away on the front porch (or I imagine in front of the fireplace in the colder months); you'll enjoy your stay just as well. I know we look forward to returning next year!
