House was very clean, user friendly, breakfast was wonderful and nutricious and the innkeepers were attentive to our needs and were very good at preparing what they presented to us to eat!

Ask questions of the owners as they are wel tuned to the area and what to do and see!

From the moment we walked in we were treated with class. This was both my husbands and my first bed and breakfast experience and we weren't sure what to expect. We both needed some TLC and quiet and that is what we got and more. Bill and Paul are exceptional Inn keepers. The room was lovely, the bed comfortable, and the breakfasts delightful. We did not miss television at all and found so much to talk about (how nice!) Our hosts were more than gracious with maps and restaurant suggestions. We couldn't thank them enough for sending us to the Simon Pearce Glass blowing factory where we had a wonderful tour and a 5 star dinner overlooking the falls! See you in the fall !

I came looking for a peaceful, quiet and relaxing spot and found it at the Chester House Inn. Bill was mostly on duty when I was there-he was friendly & knowledgeable about the area- I felt right at home. My room was clean, the bathroom was large and the bed comfortable. I had two great nights of sleep. The breakfasts were great and artfully presented. The breakfast room offered the opportunity to either talk with others or not - whatever worked for you. I spent lots of time reading in the rocking chairs on the porch which overlooked a quiet Main St. with interesting shops but not a lot of traffic whizzing by. While there I caught the small-town Memorial Day parade, checked out the old cemetary and the Farmer's Market, and took walks along the Main St. I also visited an artist gallery, saw the old stone village nearby and visited Lowell Lake about 10 miles away. If you just need a rest from the busyness of life, check out Chester and the Chester House Inn!

Staying at the Chester House Inn in Vt was truly a wonderful experience. Our room was so lovely, with a gas fireplace, comfortable canopy bed, and furnishings just perfect. The atmosphere at the Inn was exactly what one would hope for! Bill ,one of the owner's was a perfect host. We shared many stories and even gardening ideas. We will most certainly be back there again!

We received very personalized service. We were treated like royalty, and the owners were very interested in making our stay as comfortable as they could possibly make it. The coffee was ready right on time, and the tasty breakfast was prepared per our request. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were immaculate. The town of Chester is in two words, quaint and lovely. There are an incredible number of things to do with your time, and if its not in Chester, it's only a short drive through the country towns away.
Bill (the owner) was very knowledgeable about the area, and he provided allot of guidance for our visiting pleasure. If you want quiet mixed with breathtaking views, pleasant shopping and friendly people, don't hesitate to give Bill a call at the Chester House Inn, in Chester Vermont.

What a great experience! We've stayed in many B&Bs, but none compares to our recent stay at the Chester House Inn in Chester, VT. From the moment we walked through the front door, we knew we were in for a treat.
The inn is beautifully decorated and is impeccably clean and maintained. Our room (Queen Charlotte Room, Suite 4) was absolutely gorgeous: a bright corner room, with a striking canopy bed, a cozy fireplace, and a relaxing jacuzzi--everything needed for a peaceful weekend getaway.
We thought we were in heaven...until breakfast the next morning. Then we KNEW we were in heaven! Our delightful hosts, Paul and Bill, had prepared the most delicious breakfast ever.
The innkeepers are very personable and make you feel at home. They were quite helpful in suggesting things to do that interested us and in giving us directions for getting to those places.
The town of Chester was so interesting to explore. We especially enjoyed discovering the past in the local antique shops.
In the afternoon, we went for a charming sleigh ride through fields and forests. Nothing could be more romantic.
When it came to dinner, after reviewing the menus of all the local restaurants, it was difficult to decide which one to go to. After we told Paul what we were looking for, he suggested the perfect place: Leslie's. We couldn't have had a better dinner.
While at the inn, we also met some very interesting people there from Sweden and another couple from Florida.
We highly recommend the Chester House to anyone looking for a beautiful and comfortable getaway. You couldn't ask for a nicer experience.

Depending on the person, perhaps a little too quiet. First, the innkeepers were very nice, and the common room was terriffic. We stayed in Suite 4. The room decor is a bit fuddy, but you can tell that from the photos (no TV in room, as you can also tell). Also, the fireplace emits a loud "tick, tick tick", as it is on a timer. After a couple of minutes of that, my girlfriend started to go crosseyed from the noise, even with a glass of champagne in hand, so we shut it off...

One thing you don't find out before you get there is that the jacuzzi may only be run between 10am and 10pm because the noise from the motor might disturb other guests. After a day of skiing and supper, we felt rushed to get into the jacuzzi and rushed to shut it off.

We also usually listen to music or watch a movie on the laptop while we soak (even with the motor off). Here, however, we were horribly conscious of the noises coming from other rooms and realized that any comfortable volume might carry. We found ourselves whispering to each other...

The stay is great if you are a very quiet couple that plans to turn in by 10PM or so. My girlfriend screamed in the car as we were driving away to "break the silence."

If you do stay in chester, the Scottish pub is great. Try the chicken pot pie (the best I've had), but stay away from the pizza (tastes like a kid's frozen pizza)...
