“Comfortable hotel close to Ludlow, VT”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

The hotel isn't going to make a huge impression, but it's nice enough and comfortable. Our room had double queen beds, air conditioning and a Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom is nothing special, but they stock Aveda shampoo and conditioner. Whatever the hotel is lacking in accommodations it makes up in location, about a 5 minute drive to Ludlow. I went up to the Castle and hung out by the outdoor pool for a few hours, it was empty at first but eventually people trickled in slowly. You have to sign in with the spa to take out towels, which is annoying and unnecessary. We got a deal on Groupon for about $100 a night with a credit for dinner which we didn't wind up using since you were required to order a 3 course meal with a minimum purchase of $100.
The Pointe is pet friendly!

Love this hotel. Third time visiting Staff very nice and helpful. Rooms very spacious and clean. Spa is up the hill from the hotel. Town is about 5-10 min drive where there are restaurants, shops. Ski area okemo about 10 min drive away. I actually like the location alot. Couldn't be happier.

We lodged and dined at the Pointe. The Team members at this resort are the best. I cannot tell you how patient the front desk employees were as my attendees tend to hang around the desk and the lobby, pestering everyone. They are sweet and well behaved, but they can be a challenge at times. The staff in the dining room were patient and adhered to their needs, even though they were many. I was a Dir. at the largest hotel in Washington D.C. for 38 years and after retiring I acted as Mystrey Shopper for several large hotel chains. I know service when I see it. The Hotel was clean, spacious clean rooms and a fantastioc staff, from the Manager through the employees. I was always greeted with a smile and a friendly greeting. I have taken the special needs, on several tours a year since 1976 and this was one of the best. 6 days

Room Tip: All the rooms were nice at the Pointe, The Castle are spectacular. Dining is also excellent at the C...

Upon check in, I feared we had made a terrible mistake, but, to my surprise our room was pleasantly clean and well stocked. Spacious suite, comfortable bed and nice cold a/c. Kitchen with full sized appliances, coffee pot, washer & dryer and nice fluffy towels. The town on the other hand was boring and avoid the spa at all costs (overpriced, awful massage).

The hotel and surrounding area are remarkable. The hotel was clean, the staff was pleasant. Definitely a big step up from you holiday inns such. The room had an exceptional mattress and a nice amount of walking and sitting space. The bath had a whirlpool tub and was delightfully styled. Felt the price left something to be desired. Felt the room and hotel were worth the charge, I just didn't feel like I had gotten a deal of any kind.

My wife andI stayed in to condos. This is part of a letter I wrote to the manger and never rec'
d a response...
When we arrived we had difficulty finding the condo entrance. Others during our stay had the same problem as they attempted to enter our condo- even banging on our glass terrace door! We found all the curtains broken from the top curtain rods making it difficult to close. There was no “Do Not Disturb” hanger provided for our door. The air cooler/heater in the living area did not function (even when I walked down to the office to get new batteries). One evening we heard a loud dripping sound only to discover water dripping from the ceiling in the bathroom. After calling maintenance and having them in our condo did we learn the upstairs Jacuzzi was leaking into our bathroom. The next evening we decided to use our Jacuzzi only to discover that there was no way to turn it on as the controls were missing. The toilet paper holder in the main bath fell off the wall and would not stay on. When we cooked we found no hot pads, but were provided some when we called. Throughout our stay the staff displayed limited skills in guest services and did not appear professional. Upon check–out I mentioned these issues to the staff to see what response I would get. The response was lacking any regret for the problems and no offer to remedy the situation so that we might consider returning. We did not try the fine dining at the Castle or the Spa nearby for fear it too was not what it seemed. We were surprised by the sound of a train’s whistle piercing the rest for which we longed. I hope our experience was not usual for your guests, as we always hope for success for any business such as yours, nestled among the beautiful Green Mountains. I am hoping you take our disappointment and unpleasant stay to heart and improve the experiences for your future guests.

The room was big and beautiful with a/c, a (malfunctioning) wine fridge and a keurig in the room. There's an arcade in the pointe lobby an indoor pool and a hot tub. No drinking in the pool area though. Down the driveway and up a hill there is the spa and pool across from the restaurant. The spa was lovely! We had a couples massage and enjoyed the outdoor pool area a little bit. The outdoor pool is perfect... Except it closes at 7:45pm :/ no one was impressed when we were kicked out and had to go into the much colder indoor pool with all the children. Not much to do at he resort other than video games and swimming.
