My girl and I visited in August. When you order slices from here, they're HUGE!. One slice is equal to two slices in Jersey, minus the attitude. Many choices when it comes to pizza. The staff were very polite and told us all of our choices. Lots of thank you and you're welcome. This is typical in Vermont though. They also have salads, soups, etc. Reasonably priced too for a college town.

Stopped in last night and had the lasagna. It was so good, seriously considered getting it again tonight. But, instead opted for the Thai tilapia special, which was also excellent.

Appetizer last night was crab cake - eh, as a Marylander, not our type of crab cake. Tonight, tried both the pesto mozarella sticks and the calamari and enjoyed both.

Though I got take out both nights, interactions with staff for take out showed them to be very friendly and helpful.

We ate dinner at the Blue Cat Bistro, while staying at a local B&B. We liked the menu selections-from pizza to hamburger to italian to steak; something for everyone and moderately priced. Since we had already had cocktails at the B&B, we just ordererd dinner. Although it was foliage season, we were surprised to find the small dining room of approximately 7 tables only 1/2 full and while it did full up a bit more before we left, there was only one waitress handling all of the tables, and she seemed to be moving pretty fast! There is a small 4 chair bar off to one side, and a deli operation in the front of the building that you pass through to enter the dining room. The dining room was pleasant. Since we had cocktails already, we were feeling mellow and didn't notice the passage of time as much as others might between our order and when the meal was served. The waitress was attentive and gave us an order or bread and butter, and then as time passed offered us another order which we accepted, before our meal came. The bread was excellent in itself! It was perhaps homemade. It was rosemary flavored, and thinly sliced, and very good with either butter or olive oil. We ate it all. I ordered pasta mediteranian with chicken and sun dried tomatoes, and my husband ordered the house hamburger with fries. We both had a salad. Both selections were very good. We later learned that the owner has had a difficult time knowing how many waitresses are needed on a given night; sometimes its slow for no determinable reason and sometimes it is very busy. Castleton is somewhat off the main beaten path. No matter, we would definitely eat here again. The Bistro is right on the main street of a classic New England town, and would also be a delight to walk to on warmer nights.

Great place for families, very accommodating, food is above average, fairly priced and the staff very good. There is also a market area for home cooking, picnics and snacks. Varied menu with pasta dishes, seafood, chicken and beef. All very fresh, cooked to order. We go as a family when in Castleton visiting and like it very much.
