“Definitely a place worth a visit”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

During our bike trip, we stopped at the Boyden Valley Winery. Brian made us feel welcome and took the time to explain each of the wine we tasted. Definitely a place worth a visit to taste their local wines with some cheese on the terrace. The tasting includes seven wines to choose from their entire collection. Vermont Ice Red and Riverbend Red are particularly interesting.

“Great visit”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

We went to this winery since we were down the street and we were thrilled by the selection. For just 7 bucks, we shared 14 wine samplings and received two glasses. The staff was great, the apple ice wine, the mulled wine and the rhubarb wine were excellent. A must stop if you are in the area.

“Interesting Wines &Friendly Staff”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

Let's acknowledge that VT is not exactly a great place to grow grapes. That said, the folks at Boyden do a pretty good job crafting their wines, using a lot of grapes grown locally and importing a lot of grapes from other New England vineyards. Several fruit wines and some interesting ice wines, along with a couple of good crème liqueurs (we bought a bottle of the apple crème liqueur). The tasting was reasonably priced for 7 samples (you pick them from a menu of a dozen or so), and the explanation from the gal who was doing the pouring was very informative. The ice wines are definitely worth looking into.

“Some good choices”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

For the area the $7 tasting charge is a little high. But since you keep the glasses, it makes it reasonable, assuming you want a souvenir. I did not care for 3 or 4 of the 7 I tried, but we did buy a bottle of their Riverbend Red that we liked. I also liked the a couple of liqueurs too, but didn't buy any. They also have ice wines, which were good. Worth a stop.

“Excellent selection!”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

This winery is one of the better small local wineries I have ever been to. For just $7 you get to try any 7 things on the menu and you get to take your wine glass home. I tried to pick something from every category. The woman running the tasting that day was very informative and you could tell she really cared about their product. By the end of the tasting I was having a very hard time narrowing down what I wanted to purchase. Their ice wines are fantastic but a little pricey. I understand the high price tag after hearing about how it is made however. Unfortunately a bottle of their ice wine was just a little out of my price range. After the tasting you have the option to purchase a glass of wine and some cheese and go sit outside if you like. I would absolutely stop by again for another tasting.
