“Beautiful farm, mediocre wine”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 11, 2013

This is a pastoral place to stop, but the wine is good to use for cooking, not drinking. It seems every state has jumped on the winery bandwagon, but you really can't just plunk a winery anywhere land is cheap. People are nice, buy the maple syrup and souvenirs, but you can get much better wine for much less money at your local grocery store.

Went for a wine tasting here with my husband and ended up buying 6 bottles! Very interesting Vermont-made wines at decent prices.

“Our Favorite Winery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

My husband and I discovered Boyden Valley Winery about 16 years ago and we've seen it mature and age into the class act that it is today. The staff is informative. The wines are delicious. They are always trying something new: whether it be the ice wines(grapes are left on the vines until the first frost so it's a more concentrated flavor) or the new apple creme liquor. We adore their Glogg(spiced wine served warm - it's great in the winter) and their Big Barn Red, a versatile, full-bodied red. It's a nice drive from the Burlington area and well worth it. We usually bring home a case of wine each time we visit,

“Pretty good wine near Smugglers' Notch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2012

The winery is in a charming barn. They offer tastings at $6.00 to try a variety of wines. You get to keep the glass. We are red wine fans and the Big Barn Red was pretty decent. They have lots of sweeter varieties and desert wines. The Apple Creme Liqueur was really good. This was fun to check out while staying in nearby Smugglers' Notch. The Smugglers' Notch Distillery in Jeffersonville is well worth visiting too.
