Over the years, Mirabelles has become more formal, less of a cafe where one might linger and more of a restaurant with relatively fast turnover. The pastries and cakes are exceptional, and any special celebration would be enhanced with a cake baked at Mirabelles. My most recent visit was for lunch. The soups, salads, and sandwiches were fine, not exceptional, and the prices were relatively high. The seating area is bright but not very comfortable (a bit crowded and noisy because of the way that tables are arranged). The service was excellent, and the atmosphere feels festive.

For 30 yrs I owned a food business in Boston, and I am a baker myself. Boston has no sweets bakery to rival Mirabelle in breadth and flavor of products. I am not really a cake person so i don't order those, but Alison's Almond Horns are outstanding, macarons excellent and diverse(though i would prefer more buttercream filling) and her sweet and savory croissants are superb (crispy on the outside, airy layers, generous filling). Ingredients are tops- pure butter, caillebaut chocolate, real European buttercream (not confectioners sugar and crisco). Her new ventures into ice cream (salted caramel w/ crispy bits!) and chocolate covered candy (sea salt caramels and almond caramels, pnut butter cups etc.) are top rate. This is a very busy place with high turnover, so your pastries are alway freshly baked. The people of Burlington have no idea how lucky they are!

Went for lunch and had the roast beef sandwich and turkey pannini. Sandwiches were tasty but ok. If you're in town, it s an ok place for lunch.

This place has a great breakfast along with an interesting menu.We thoroughly enjoyed it.We went on a Sunday morning at 9 and there was no wait. They serve popovers with various breakfast food in them such as bacon and eggs or cheese and broccoli. They also serve standard breakfast items as well.

Coffee was great and the service very friendly.

The prices are fine too.

They also have a wonderful bakery for tempting take out.

Location is right downtown with lots of street parking.

I can't wait to visit again!

They make a delicious Earl Grey iced tea. I get that for breakfast with the ham and cheese criossant, delicious! Everything is yummy there and their cakes are wonderful for a very special occassion. It's a busy place at peak times, be prepared to wait for a table.
