“Comfortable place in Burlington”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2013

This was a comfortable, well-located place for us to stay in Burlington. Rooms have all the features that we want: comfy beds, places to sit and read, space, nice walk-in shower, etc. Staff were very pleasant, especially at the restaurant where we were charged for one buffet breakfast rather than two because "you didn't eat very much." The room price wasn't fabulous, but at least the performance of the place was very good. You can walk to shopping and restaurants from this hotel. We would stay here again.

The hotel is pretty nice, located right downtown next to the water. There were 4 of us that split the room, and we were all comfortable. Overall, it seems a bit pricey for the quality of the place, but maybe I'm just old fashioned. Oh, and the coffee machine didn't seem to work .

Room Tip: Ask for a water-facing room. We had the awkward building end room with a view of the parking lot.

Dear rdillon6,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I am glad that you and your friends found the room to be comfortable, and provided you with a great location for your stay. We are very fortunate to have such a great spot in the downtown area. In regards to the coffee maker, I do apologize for this, and will make sure it is replaced.

Thank you so much for staying with us!

I was in Burlington for only one night, and needed a room in the center or town. This fit the bill. Check in was quick and the room (a one bedroom suite) was spacious, and comfy. The bedroom was separated from the living room by a fully closable door. The bathroom had a whirlpool tub, which I didn't take the time to enjoy. There was a separate enclosure for the shower, which was a bit on the small side, but serviceable, and the water pressure was outstanding. Check out time wasn't until noon, which scores bonus points with me.

This was our second visit to the Courtyard and after out first, very positive experience, we decided to come back from November 28 to November 30. First of all, the location of the hotel can't be beat: close to the lake, to the Burlington Square Mall, and to Church Street. Secondly, the staff is very friendly and helpful. However, this time around, the condition of our room left quite a bit to be desired. Our room had two queen beds and upon pulling back the comforter on one of the beds, we noticed what looked like a mix of brown lint and hair clippings on the white bed sheet. Looking further, we noticed that this was on the comforter as well. We called down to the front desk and they promptly came to get the full bed linens changed. Unfortunately, it didn't end there: while we were waiting for the linens to be changed, one of our children crouched down to look on floor and found a pair of socks under the chair that was in the corner and an empty plastic water bottle under the bed. Also, it looked like the floor hadn't been vacuumed as there was lint and crumbs on the carpet.

In my years of travel, I have never come across such a fundamental lapse in room maintenance, and, again, this is very different from what we experienced during our first visit a few years ago.

Our first visit to Vermont was perfect with this stunning location on Lake Champlain. Charming university town and invigorating beauty...this hotel fits well in its central location. Friendly staff, clean rooms, lovely pool and whirlpool hot tub. Breakfast and dinner was delicious with the menu including many local ingredients. Valet parking was $12 for the day.

Stayed June 2012. This hotel was modern, clean, and in a great location. Beautiful views of the Lake and walking distance to Church Street. The staff was friendly and check in was fast and easy (we didn't have a reservation) The parking is a little odd and confusing when you first arrive but overall I would stay here again.

We stayed here for a Saturday in November, the room was clean, parking was underground, location was great.

There was a snow storm in the area, so we were unable to browse the area, but we had been before, so not a problem. However, trying to sleep at night when the live music (which would usually be awesome) was playing RIGHT UNDERNEATH our room (308) was not cool! With two young children, aged 4 and 6, trying to get to bed was a challenge, then the front desk tells me that the music would stop at 9pm...call again, 9:30, call again, 10pm, call again...finally 10:20pm!!! Needless to say, this was not appreciated. Hotel management, please do not place families in room 308 or anywhere on the 3rd floor with paper thin floors and walls!

I will attempt to stay again, perhaps in the future, but I will be sure to call ahead and request not staying on the third floor!

Room Tip: Request to NOT BE IN ROOM 308 if you have kids, it is directly above the lobby and if there is live...
