The wait is sometimes long, but the food is consistently good. There are specials listed on a blackboard and a wide variety of choices are on the menus. The eggs, potatoes, fruit are always exactly right. The pancakes delicious, the portions ample and the coffee often filled. There are some steps to get into the restaurant, chairs to sit on in the waiting area and friendly, efficient service.

Went based on previous reviewers and we were NOT disappointed. Generous portions and lots of variety on the breakfast menu. Friendly service on top!

We've been seeking the Great American Breakfast for a good many years and this sunny cafe hung with dog-themed art is right up there with our all-time favorites. You can't go wrong here, although you might leave fantasizing about all the delectable things you haven't yet tasted, I, for one, am still thinking of blueberry-gingerbread pancakes. Come prepared to wait (45 minutes is not unusual) or time your visit between the end of the breakfast rush and the lunch hour, around 10:45. Hash fans, try the turkey version. Vegetarians, you'll find no shortage of options.

This was our best breakfast food experience in Burlington. Although we had a large party and there was a wait, the hostess was very accomodating to our group. The food was fabulous. An order of blueberry pancakes had fresh, delicious blueberries. A fruit salad had fresh fruit and wonderful surprises such as figs and mango. The orange juice was fresh squeezed, the pancake syrup was real maple syrup. Coffee was fresh brewed and delicious and they even had soy milk (a must have for me in my coffee since I can't drink cows milk). The restaurant was bright and cheerful, decorated with various "FLY" themed artwork. Don't miss this gem!

great place to have brunch or lunch. lines can be long on week end. frequented mostly by local. it is a very friendly place with a great menu, from tradtional breakfast brunch fare to some with additonal foreign zest, from mexican to asian, a truly delicious mix for all tastes. my daughter lives in burlington and there is not a visit to her that goes without a brunch at Penny Cluse.
this is a 5 stars for breakfast/brunch/lunch and for the value.

practical details
there is no reservation but it is worth the wait. and you can take a walk to church street one block away while you wait.
no outdoor seating
the cafe is closed for dinner.
