“Beer was good but food was mediocre”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

Like another reviewer I was pleased with the beer (on cask) but found the chili very average. The chicken satay was better but even the server could not say the apps were anything exciting. The atmosphere was a bit dark where we sat although the front part of the bar was nice and light. No regrets but I wouldn't rush back.

“Inexpensive beer and onion rings”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

We stopped in for a quick beer and order of onion rings. The beers were just okay but the onion rings were great! Didn't eat in the restaurant; sat in the beer for our drinks. The patio looks great in warmer weather.

“No trip to Burlington is complete without a stop at VP&B”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

If you are looking for gourmet food and an extensive wine list go elsewhere and drop $50 per person. Otherwise make a reservation and head to VP&B for reasonably priced and tasty food and great ales. Had the Fried seafood combo while my wife devoured the veg lasagna. Both were great.
Started with a nitrogen dispensed burly, followed by ON CASK - High Seas IPA then finished off with the regular High Seas IPA. My wife savored the Dogbite Bitter followed by Blackwatch IPA.

So if you lean toward Bud light lean elsewhere. If you seek some of the best microbrewery ales in Vermont your search has ended.

Highly recommend that you leave your car at the hotel and walk.
Make a reservation.

“It's ok - pub food trying to be more than it is”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

First mistake was asking for wine at a brewery pub. Their selection was extremely limited so unless you like any old wine and don’t like beer you may want to go someplace else. The food was delivered warm, not hot – mozzarella sticks and steak on a stick. We assumed the waiter put the entire order in as an appetizer despite our request to have the cheese platter as an appetizer and the remaining as a meal. Judging by the temperatures the other items must have waited on the counter until we were ready. If I return I would definitely order the beer sampler to go with the cheese platter – a bit of information they should have posted on the menu, not shared with us after we received the platter.
If you are up for beer and pub food I think this is a great spot, but if you want a quality meal, walk in either direction and you are likely to find 5 other good options. The price was good, but the quality not to good. Keep looking.
