Description: Sweetwaters is an American Bistro with an unique twist on your favorite eats. For over 30 years, we've been serving fantastic cuisine with local ingredients in a family-friendly atmosphere in the heart of Burlington, on the corner of College and Church Streets on the charming Church Street Marketplace. Architecturally interesting, Sweetwaters is housed in what was the original site of the Burlington Trust Company. Built in the 1880s, the building retains its original mouldings, cornerstone, clock and architectural appointments. With a full bar, extensive menu, unique interior, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, Sweetwaters certainly has something for everybody. We serve lunch and dinner daily, with a late night menu for all you night owls out there.

“Good burgers”

We looked for a place to eat late at night, and their kitchen was partially open. The burgers were quite nice, and the service good. Not amazing, but quite satisfying.

“Nice to sit outside”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2012

We sat outside for a drink and people watched. Our waitress could have been a lot better. It took her several minutes to even say hello and it was obvious she wasn't paying attention to what we said as she asked the same question three times. I will not be in any hurry to go back there due to the lack of good service.

“Great location....average food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

Pros: Great location, especially if you sit outside. We had good service inside, but the place was not yet crowded.

Cons: My partner and I each had entrees - both were mediocre to poor. The place appears to be good for just burgers and drinks. Lastly, the restaurant is located in what was once (per the staff) an old bank. It is old and dirty on the inside. The rest rooms are down 2 flights of steps to the basement. The men's room was poorly lit and somewhat dirty.

Husband had the angus Redrocks burger which he is still raving about 5 days later! That dish is highly recommended. I had the baked haddock which I enjoyed very much. However, the haddock may be a bit bland for some people.

“Not such sweet service at Sweetwaters”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2012

My boyfriend and I were excited to eat here, based upon the alluring menu and vast amount of outdoor seating available on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated promptly. I went to freshen up, came back, and still no one had checked in. We waited easily another 10 min...nothing..no water...no drink order..nada. Interestingly enough, there were what seamed like plenty of wait staff, talking, laughing, hugging friends who walked up on the street. After 20 min of trying to be patient we left and took our business to Church St pub where we were served promptly, the food was tasty, and the atmosphere was friendly :)
