Description: Rí Rá is located in an historic bank building, designed by Boston based Harper & West, that was completed in 1931. The pub opened for the first time in March 1999, and was extended in 2002 with the addition of the Library area. In February 2012, The Whiskey Room opened its doors. As you enter Rí Rá, you can imagine yourself walking through a door that leads you across the pond to experience the best pubs of Ireland. The pub interiors were salvaged and restored in Ireland prior to being shipped to Vermont. We are proud to showcase a unique and genuine Irish pub in the heart of Burlington.

We had a wide array of appetizers and then I ordered the Mushroom Ragu. It was ok, pretty salty overall. The fries were great and the potato cakes were delicious! Good beer selection as well.

Went here twice. Once at night and once for lunch. The dinner scene was crowded, and it was a busy holiday weekend. So while service was great, they were out of several beers and had limited supplies of some food. I had their curry fries; which were good - not great, but good. Given the crowd that night, it would be hard to judge the kitchen just on that.

Came back the next day to try again, and it was well worth it. Grabbed a nice snug while a friendly waitress took our order. The beer was great and the fish and chips was the best. The portion was huge (see photo below - and that was the smaller of the two). It was crispy on the outside, and moist and flavorful on the inside. A definite winner.

Overall, great atmosphere and service. I will be sure to make it a point to go there again next time I'm in Burlington.

"Ri Ra" is an Irish Pub in downtown Burlington VT. It is located along the four block long pedestrian avenue that includes scores of restaurants and shops. The avenue is wide, and most of the restaurants have outdoor seating - 6 or 8 tables. The weather was awesome last night. Sunshine til sundown and temperatures near 70. And this is Jazz Fest week in Burlington. There were Jazz Bands set up to play every 20 or 30 yards along the entire four blocks. That made the wait for an outside table at least 30 minutes. So we ate inside. RI RA is, or at least tries really hard for, authenticity. High backed individual booths constructed of dark woods. Walls and ceilings painted to resemble aged, smoke stained white washed plaster. Menu filled with what we Americans have come to believe to be genuine Irish offerings. Guinness Stew, Fish and Chips, Corned Beef, etc. Irish Ciders. But curiously mostly American beers on tap. Soccer on TV the few TV's scattered about. Food and service are good. Prices are reasonable. Fries could have been a little more crisp, perhaps another 30 seconds in the fryer...but they were passable. Bottom line: Very good Irish Pub!

Went there on May 10th at noon. Walked in to the uncrowded bar and sat down just to be ignored by the bartender. ( I showered..Honest). We waited for several minutes got up and went to the front and got a seat outside. We waited again and just as we were getting up to go across the street a waitress appeared. We ordered and got the hamburg with cold onion rings and my wife had a salad. Go across the street. We wish we did
